The amount of bots farming gear from BGs is absolutely atrocious, on both factions, and needs to be addressed. Period. It is undeniably ruining BGs in Classic WotLK.
It is almost an absolute and guaranteed loss for the team that has the fewest amount of sentient characters playing the game. That’s embarrassing to acknowledge, but is absolutely true.
The bots STOP farming honor once they reach 4.5-5k gs.
Ergo, the simple notion of adding a “below 5k gs bracket” and a “above 5k gs bracket” for BGs, in my opinion, instantly resolves the bots plaguing their teams in bgs issue.
This keeps geared players playing with and against other geared players, restoring an actual sense of “team balance” and fairness to the games. While also making the bots more easily identifiable, because they’d all be in 1 place, swimming around their own cesspool of disgrace battling themselves.
Blizzard, this needs to end. You need to do something to address this issue.
/endrant
The horde needed this ages ago. We’re plagued with far more scrubs/bots than alliance, basically handing alliance most of the matches. Separate brackets would put all the deadweight into a different queue so those of us at the top get a fair fight.
Edit: Decided not to derail the thread for someone’s ignorant assumptions and irrelevant personal rants.
P.S.: Skills on street fighter have nothing to do with world of warcraft.
The issue is, this just makes the bot issue somebody else’s problem. The current setup isn’t ideal, but players trying to gear up on alts, or even mains now that we’re at the final tier and people will likely want to dabble in PvP, are going to have an even worse time of it.
Perhaps that’s an insignificant number of people, but it certainly won’t be fun for them. It’s not like Blizzard is going to segregate, and then ban bots. If they could do that, they’d be doing it now.
Ultimately, the Community should stop trying to have these creative solutions to the bot issue. It’s really no more complex than:
“Bots are ruining the game, I cannot play certain modes as intended because of them. I will do my part by reporting, but you, Blizzard, need to dedicate more time/resources to solving this issue.”
Alts can reach 5k gs strictly through PvP during a singular BG holiday weekend, and/or spamming WG 4+ times a day for 2-3 days. Sorry, you would have to slug it out for 2 days if you want to make it out of the undergeared bracket, don’t think that’s asking a whole heck of a lot. Mains should already have at least 5k gs, I’ve seen plenty of PvE gear in BGs and it’s a non issue compared to how negatively 1.6k gs bots effects the team they’re on.
Yes. it is.
But they can. Again, the bots STOP farming honor once they reach a certain gear threshold (apx 4.5k). So, Blizzard ~could~ just observe the GS of the bots they’re banning, and set the bg gear bracket threshold based on that data, and effectively segregate the player pools based on gear levels. Especially at a later point in the game which we find ourselves presently.
But why tho? Aren’t these forums the very place for players’ voices to be heard? By fellow players, and in theory also Blizzard itself?
At the end of the day, bot economics of buying accounts/gametime, cheating until getting reported/banned, rinse and repeat adds $$$$ to Blizzard’s bottom line.
So what real incentive do they have to “dedicate more time/resources to solve the issue” unless they hear enough noise and blowback from the legitimate player-base???
Too ambiguous. I don’t know what GS is so that doesn’t tell me anything.
When you clarify what GS is with what the equivalent (what 5K would be) standard PvP gear set we’re talking about, then I’ll tell you if I agree with your idea or not.
All furious everything. Weapons, 5/5 mainset pieces, all offpieces. Having this will put you above a 5k GS.
Can farm weapons + 5/5 mainset pieces in a day doing 4+ WG while weaving random BGs during 3 hour windows between WG. Factor in an additional 15k honor from completing WG weekly quests. And another 10k honor from Daily Random Win + Daily BG Quest.
Do it a second day, factoring in 10k honor from Daily Random Win + Daily BG Quest, and you will have full furious offpieces.
Not asking for a lot, 2 days of solid grinding … Call it 24 hours of played time.
In that case, it’s not the worst Idea in the world; provided that there are no other hierarchical factors, other than gear, that influence public random queueing.
This could not be more inaccurate lmfao. Premades are a non-issue at this stage of the game. If you think otherwise, you’re huffing copium because your team is just ~that~ bad, probably because it has several bots and other undergeared players on it lol.
The level of premades playing is at an all-time low because BGs simply aren’t fun anymore with the amount of bots Qing randoms (why premade and faceroll teams that are 4/10 bots? That’s not fun, that’s just boring).
Just because there are teams comprised mostly of Benediction / Faerlina players does not make them a premade, they are the mega servers for a reason, because nearly 50% of the WotLK playerbase has elected to play on 1 of those 2 those realms.
I play both Horde and Alliance in BGs and, from personal experience, Horde teams have more bots. Period. Not saying Alliance doesn’t have them, but I’ve found it to be less common than on Horde.
Creating a gear threshold, like they’ve done with Gamma’s, only hurts undergeared people who want to be carried. Toughen up, gear up (again 24 hours played time isn’t asking a whole heck of a lot), then play and have fun against other geared players, in games free of bots, because the bots stop Qing at a certain gear level.
They are literally instanced zones, that present their own unique set of challenges to the players that enter them.
This is simply not the case. In my experience, playing what I’d wager is a far above average amount of random BGs compared to the average WotLK player because BGs are how I like to spend my solo time playing the game. And from my experience in this, the Horde faction has more bots Qing. I have a much higher, measurable, win rate on Alliance than I do on Horde. It’s because Horde has more bots and undergeared players Qing compared to Alliance. So adding a gear threshold, again, only hurts those wanting to be carried.
Why sit and be a keyboard warrior fighting against a proposition that would make it so geared, legitimate players would have an overall better experience? Playing with and against other geared players, in lobbys free from bots. To disagree with the premise is pretty smoothbrained imo.
So your actual issue is bots not a gear disparity, and your solution is to just screw over everyone who doesn’t meet your arbitrary not a bot gear thresh hold?
Yes, precisely. If you read the first sentence of my OP, you would see that bots plaguing every single BG 24/7 are where my grievances lie.
This literally screws over no one. Players who wouldn’t meet a “geared bracket” requirement would have even fairer matchups against other players of similar gear. If you’re a newer player with lesser gear, getting literally 1 shot by Shadowmourne doesn’t feel good for either the giving or receiving end.
Adding a gear requirement creates a more fair playing environment for all players of all gear levels. And in addition, it eliminates bots from games that has more geared players in the lobby, who have spent more time and effort gearing up their characters. It let’s them see some real action, not just a AoE farming 2k gs mostly bot characters like they’re Dragonkin inside of a BG.
The play environment is already fair, both sides have the same number of bots.
All you want to do is punish lower geared players by forcing them to play with more bots. Ironically if you’re claiming horde have more bots that’s extra punishing to horde LOL.
You’ve been conditioned to think that way because you yourself are not very good at video games. I don’t need 3rd party crutches to play this game.
I developed my video game dexterity beating games like Ninja Gaiden 1 and street fighter 2010 as a kid… On the same basis and criteria that you used to foster doubt about if I use third party software or not (not even a damage meter), I doubt you’ve ever beat any of these games, without the help of a Game Genie.
P.S. I can pull off 10-hit combos like nothing on most Street Fighters, due to my video gaming skills. I’d be surprised if you can even get a 5-hit combo in any Street Fighter.
