The monks and rogues are the epitome of class fantasy for agile classes.
The Monks draw heavy inspiration from Kung Fu films where the fighters would kick off of walls, stand on the tip of their enemies’ swords, and kick and punch each other while completely airborne. Rogue class fantasy evokes thoughts of masterful shadow warriors, and this is just as much reflected in their gameplay.
Monks can launch themselves forward with a flying serpent kick full of dragon energy, and lift themselves off the ground by spinning with a punch so fast. Rogues can/could catapult themselves into the air, as well as blink around naruto style multiple times in a matter of seconds to deliver devastating strikes… but you mean to tell me neither can fathom how to jump a second time?
As for our Illidari brothers, their 3rd jump being ‘Glide’ is where we say “this can only be done by a Demon Hunter”. I’m not asking for Monks and Rogues to glide, that would be ridiculous. I’m simply asking for the two martial arts classes to be able to jump twice.
Why? Well frankly double jumping is understandably fun to do. It just feels good to do. It’s fun and feels cool. Secondly? It really strengthens class fantasy.
I don’t play a Feral Druid, Enhancement Shaman, or Survival Hunter and think “why can’t they double jump?” It’s not really part of their fantasies, even though they’re agility users.
Our resident Kung Fu Master and Ninja Warrior classes however, should 100% be able to.

We should all get double jump. Anything to make DH less special.

I’ve killed myself enough in Torghast with the super jump, I can only imagine how much a double jump will kill me other places to.

Laughs in Goblin Racial + Engineering nitro fails
DH’s wish they could achieve the double jumps I can get.
Cries in Goblin Glider is on CD and chute fails to deploy on nitro fail
There’s a new engi item that allows you to asborb great fall distance damage into a big earth shatter superhero landing!
Sure, just give me stealth and we will call it a fair deal!

I’d settle for a wall jump.

Eat your heart out DH, no one can match my mobility

If you could Flying Serpent Kick perfectly at the height of your jump instead of descending I’d love double jump.
I would accept simply having some form of fall protection as a freaking WINDWALKER MONK.

Double jumping is not physically possible, you need magic to do it. Rogues have no magic so cant do it, but maybe monks could.
Is this confirmed? Because I’d love to know the “magic” behind all of the gravity defying wacky stuff that Rogues and Monks already do.
That said, you could definitely make a case for Monks and how they use their chi.
I’m a little confused though by most of these replies, as double jump isn’t really a game changing thing like some people are making out. It makes platforming a tad easier but for the most part it just adds cool/fun factor to the classes.
I never even considered this, but this is even funnier considering the WINDwalker can’t double jump. I can totally see them stepping off the wind itself for a 2nd jump. No demon magics required
Blizz plz fix

Double jump overrated, give back mistwalk to mw instead!
I just want a safe fall. Double jump pales in comparison to the amount of fall damage I take on a regular basis. Rogues and druids have it, demon hunters sort of have it, why not monks?
I kinda like the idea of using double jump as a monk as their method to prevent fall damage.
Gives the whole Agile master of the winds vibe way more than just a straight fall damage reduction.
I just want the tech their Vengeance Leap has for Heroic Leap.
