no where at all in that post does it say they banned gdkp with the intention to stop rmt.
what the ACTUAL post says (which you conveniently only shared a tiny snippet of) is:
It’s also undeniable that GDKP contributes to and drives a lot of illicit activity, such as real-money trading (RMT) and botting, as it creates a demand for in-game gold that would not otherwise exist. GDKP can create an “arms race” effect that encourages participating players to purchase gold to be able to compete for the best items.
no where at all in that statement does it say the intention was to stop rmt.
Gee I wonder if they listed an entire paragraph under why its restricted if that might be why its restricted. Like your gatcha moment here is that “They banned it because it causes RMT but they didn’t ban it to stop RMT”
blizzard isnt saying “everyone who does gdkp is a gold buyer”
they are saying that gdkp creates a gold based economy that encourages (indirectly and also directly) cheating (aka gold buying), even with players who dont intent to cheat.
they are banning it because it fuels systemic issues.
you cant ban one facet of rmt and then say the intention is to stop rmt. thats not how it works. they banned it because its contributes, as the blue post clearly states.
So blizzard banned gdkp because it contributes to RMT, but they didn’t ban it to stop that RMT it contributes to? Once again, is this bait?
Obviously if you are banning something to stop something else you are banning it to stop the thing created by the thing you are banning.
I love your 180 on “the ban has been great at stopping all this RMT”
To “uh sorry chud it was never about stopping RMT!!! it was about some other secret thing!!!”
Everyone thinks about the cheaters, but what about the honest gold farmers just trying to play a video game as a way to scratch out a living? Obviously, the children yearn for the mines.
So you are saying blizzard banned gdkp because it contributed to rmt but by doing so had no intention of reducing RMT? You see no flaw in that argument?
So the intent was to reduce rmt, it reduced rmt, and your thesis from those events is “they didn’t ban it to stop rmt”
Yeah you just call for everyone you don’t like to be hardware id banned.
INB4 quoting your exact words is misrepresenting them
