literally every lobby I queue is some combination of warlocks, hunters, fury, spriest, shamans (except enhance)
idk what is up with the guys complaining about frost mage in shuffle, maybe it’s different a lot lower than where I am, but where I am, I’m easily getting deleted in 1-2 gcds non stop half the round and the only melee I ever see regularly in my lobbies is fury, so after barrier nerf tomorrow it’s def going to be 1 gcd max.
I legit don’t see how any other non-melee spec ever loses to a frost mage in shuffle. Unfortunately we needed nerfs because we’re busted in 3s due to rogues and ferals, but shuffle they just straight up are not.
Let the hate flood, I’m off for the night though because I can’t stomach sitting in another queue in this garbage game tonight.
Also to people asking about rsham buffs idk, they seem to be the 2nd most popular healer in shuffle, so much so that I’m now getting double rsham lobbies.
lol just had to vent. I know the nerfs were well deserved, especially after hearing about the awc
I shouldn’t even be that tilted but the final boss for me goal wise for seasons since solo queue came out is usually 2400, and last couple lobbies have been brutal where either a healer went 0-6 or a mm hunter went 6-0.
I think my main gripe is just with mm hunter atm. I swear if I am in their line for two seconds I lose 75% health, even outside of their
Yeah agree It’s a toxic mechanic, and we shouldn’t be getting extra blinks either.
Didn’t check but I can believe it, and yeah those guys are on another level compared to me for sure. I just gotta grind more games is all I know, just harder for me due to time constraints combined with the queue times to get the reps in.
Yeah rets have it sorta rough atm imo. I wish I could queue into more of them, but my lobbies seem to be pretty hard locked to mm/bm hunter, priests, ele/rsham, warlocks, and fury warriors, with almost nothing beyond that other than an occasional ww monk or feral.
I know frost mage is going to be okay, I’m just venting/ranting after a few rough lobbies.
It’s definitely still better off than most specs, just sucks that the most dominant specs are all so good against frost mage.
You’d think that we’d at least crush fury, but between most specs being able to more or less spam purge and the overtuned damage of fury, it only takes like 2 seconds of a fury warrior connecting to die from 50-60% health.
Honestly, trying to be objective, I think the icy veins nerf is kind of a semi-big deal, but it is being compensated for with overall damage, so not a big concern for me.
Most of the nerfs are a nothing burger, the only one that actually worries me is the 20% barrier nerf.
I know I get and will continue to get hate for it, but I feel kinda squishy already, especially when I mostly queue into priests, hunters, warlocks, and shamans, with at best a fury mixed in there that are tbh kind of live lords when they are good.
Look at the base modifiers on the spells that matter. 4% base damage to frostfire bolt makes up for the nerfs to frigid empowerment and the other modifiers when you math out the equation of where the damage comes from in those spells. The only difference you will notice is slightly slower ffbs in icy veins.
Yeah I get that, which is why the only nerf that really concerns me is the barrier nerf. Seems pretty big considering I already feel squishy in this meta (shuffle only).
Nah I didn’t catch any games unfortunately, but have heard the general consensus that the tournament was largely dominated by rogue mage and mage feral
Rogue mage and feral mage. Arcane mage needed to block one time in a set against bm hunter. Frost rmp went 3-0 against mm jungle. Kasu is the only perennial awc hunter player and this is probably the best hunter has ever been in an awc match and it still wasn’t even close.
For intents and purposes, nerfing barrier by 20% really does nothing because it’s still either dispelled or has forced a swap after a couple of globals if it’s not dispelled and healer catches up. The function of it being a pseudo touch of karma in the meantime makes mage way too tanky for what its role is supposed to do when combined with everything else it can do to not die. The only possible way to kill mage is to unexpectedly oneshot it in a situation where it didn’t think it needed to precast one of its defensive options and that never changes the further you get into deep dampening. It should be obvious why that’s better than everything else.
Whoops yeah that’s what I meant to say feral mage. That’s a good point on barrier, so yeah at the end of the day I’m probably just being a bit of a doomer for no good reason.
Either way, hoping unholy dk gets back in the meta, been itching to play mine but they seemed so mediocre this season. These buffs to them look great imo
