So, I have noticed that all my classes seem to be getting more and more bloat on the buttons. Maining a DH now, and even they have 14 buttons to hit not including 2 defensives and interrupts.
That seems like alot.
I don’t think it is a coincidence that Paladin is BY FAR the most played class in the game. Prot/Ret both excel in the game and they do it with a easy to play and not overly complicated amount of buttons.
So, here is what I think:
All Talents that ADD a button to a classes rotation SHOULD have a MEANINGFUL option that buffs an existing ability instead.
This way all those people who think classes without 15 hotkeys are fun can still have their 15 hotkeys, but then the people who want a more laid back experience can choose to go with passives. They key is that the passives have to be strong enough to warrant not taking the ability, as right now when there is a choice, the ability is almost always the only choice.
That is my take. Make ALL talents that ADD an ability give a choice of a Passive as well.
I hate having those one buttons that just “Reduce damage taken by 20% for 6 seconds” or whatever. They feel like a massive waste of space, time, and thought. I’d rather their ability just be added onto my offheal buttons or something.
I agree that some classes have a few more buttons than I’d like. I don’t think its a huge problem but I’d like it if there was a few less on some specs.
Damn… you up in your feels today? Just stated my opinion that its not too bad. You were more toxic than anything I said. Your guild name is misleading. Take care, man.
That was the point of the thread. Give us meaningful options to take passive talents instead of new abilities. Right now you don’t get that choice for the vast majority of classes.
That’s why I said there should be options. That way you, the great player you are, can choose to take all those active abilities and rock it out with your 23 keybinds and pwn the noobs with your superior skills.
I can take all the meaningful passives and do the same output but with 6 buttons.
Nah, it’s fine. You only need to keybind the abilities you actually use in your rotation. Not every single thing in your spell book. It’s ok to click some stuff. That’s the beauty of a mouse pointer.
I think a lot of tanks underestimate the value of damage reduction as an opener and not an emergency cooldown. For every one tank I’ve seen die to a high dmg ability or mechanic I’ve seen five die from a pack of trash mobs who were overpulled or do more damage than expected. 20% for 12 seconds can make all the difference to your healer.
