Why can the curse be removed mid fight? Happening on multiple characters. It appears anything that can cleanse or remove normal curses is removing the hard mode curse. This really stinks when you can only get the bonus loot % chance once a day and you bubble and it removes the hard mode.

blizz forgot that curses can actually be dispelled, maybe next year they’ll remember. In the meantime just do the fight without bubbling it’s not hard.

Yea bubble removed the buff since it basically lets you ignore it

Yeah the curse is a debuff so it’s not surprising bubble removes it.
The curse also has a cheat death effect. Once that effect is used, the curse goes bye-bye.
So I’m not the only one this is happening too. I take the stuff and it is gone mid battle thus taking me out of hard mode.
It appears LoH also removes it also. Something just removed it on my warrior. Dropped mid fight. Looks like our healer de-cursed me?

The special loot being tied to these curses and their janky behavior makes this event not fun.

Did you hit 10 stacks? Cuz the curse goes away then

Why did they add it like this? Why not Heroic HH instead of this failed forsaken Lab experiment?

No it doesn’t. What happens is you’ll go to 1 health. If you get hit again then you’re “dead” and the curse goes away. But if you don’t get hit with anything again, you won’t lose the curse.
Source: Tried it on an alt and got the achieve at 1 health and 10 stacks.

Curses go away mid battle. No deaths. It just drops off. Thus taking you out of hard mode. I’m thinking healers bubbling and or curse removal is pull people out of hard mode.
The curses give you a cheat death effect. If you “die” while cursed, you just cheat death but lose the curses.
I’m not saying bubbles/BoP etc. can’t remove the curses either (and it makes sense if they did since they’re a debuff), but you can’t die while cursed.
I’m not dying in the battle my health stays intact. The wickerman curses just fall off in mid battle. I take the debuff then do the battle then look up and the debuff is gone. I’m not dying I have not died once in the 4 days doing it.
Don’t use immunities or stuff that triggers Forbearance.Retracted. Tested on my pally and immunities don’t remove it.
Cannot control other paladins. Been forbearanced by other paladins.
They just need to add HH on Heroic difficulty instead of this.
It’s not just you. It’s bugging out entirely. I was healing last night, no damage being taken, no stacks of debuffs, no one was decursing, all mechanics were being done and suddenly I got stunned out of nowhere, nothing beneath my feet, no stacks, and my curses were removed.

Glad I came across this thread.
Was just in a HH fight and upon realizing my curse was dispelled, I dipped out mid fight.
Once my deserter debuff goes away, I’ll be giving a PSA to the next grp I queue into to not dispell curses.
Just another way for Blizzard to troll its player base.

Check your combat logs → “what happened to me”. You’ll see “Wicker Man’s Protection” a few times. That triggers when you’re supposed to die. Instead of dying, Protection kicks in and heals you to full and drops the curses. Look at whatever happened before Wicker Man’s Protection kicked in to see what caused it to drop off.

even with 4 curses and doing it the increase chance of the day gave me nothing of use, not that I need the mount, but still
