I am gathering my gear for Horrific Visions and would like to ask what is the ideal ilvl for run with all masks.

No clue, just roll a tank and you can probably do it at like 650 lol.

Depends on your spec. Tanks require the least amount of gear, squishier DPS and healers will require more. I did my 8 mask runs on a 660ish Havoc DH.

Destro lock
Try it at whatever ilvl you are and see how far you get. If you’re dying to mob damage, you’ll need more gear. My Demo lock was doing 5 mask runs at 650, so if you’re over that it’s probably possible. Make sure your tributes and tree are completely filled out before trying.

It’s probably possible to do it at around 660~, but I would recommend full Myth gear.
It’s brutal. One wrong move and you will be CC’d to oblivion and all your sanity drained in a moment. Being able to kill things fast is crucial. Especially for Stormwind.

- 660 is pretty fair. That’s Hero gear in nearly every slot and if you craft Myth weapons it’s even better.
- Tank is easy mode.
- Do not use Soridormi.
- Max out your Sanity Res at 90%.
- Don’t rush things. Slow down and wait for your CDs if you’re about to pull a massive pack.

Thanks ! Just finished Orgrimmar with 3 masks. Everything expect Thrall is basically ez mode ( 648 ilvl atm ) . But I would like to ask how do I farm the next masks ? I found some article saying that I have to wait for Stormwind vision ? In that case is there enough time to do both towns with 8 masks before the achievement ( with The Mad title ) is gone ?
Contrary to popular belief, I’ll go against the grain and suggest that while sure tanks CAN do it, DPS with a tank off spec are even better.
Tanks suffer tremendously from terrible single target damage and certain bosses do unavoidable sanity damage. The main advantage with tanks is you fear the bolstered trash which certain pulls get really nasty with far less (but a stun with bolstered trash can still wreck you).
But bosses like Umbric in SW are insanely easier with a DPS spec and nothing stops you from doing trash as a tank and DPS for the bosses. Druid, for example, can easily just dot Umbric and ignore his channel ability and just burst nuke him pushing him to his next phase while also being immune to polymorph and having their solarbeam for the missles making a fight many specs need 1-2 orbs dedicated to as a free fight. Plus Alleria, by far the harder of the 2 end bosses, is much easier with a boomkin who can dot and stay LOS’d to handle the mechanics and more easily avoid the eye than a low DPS bear.

Read the guide on wowhead. Some masks come from Org and others from SW. You’ll have enough time to get your 8 mask clear even if you need next week to get all 8 masks and if you get SW done, Org is insanely easier.
Also Thrall is free. Once his boars are gone, it’s just baiting his smashes at the edges of the room and move in/out of the circles. The shield only does 90 sanity and isn’t buffed by daredevil (and most tanks won’t be able to DPS it down) and otherwise it’s just getting your soul orb back.
By contrast, Alleria is a nightmare. She has a ton of floor denial, an unkillable eyeball pinging you for tons of sanity damage, and multiple 1 shot sanity death mechanics on top of burning bridge being much more of a problem also.

I am actually looking forward to go back to Stormwind. Back during the BfA I enjoyed Sw over Og.
If memory serves, the main thing you need from Org is to get the gamon nemesis shard and if you want it, the mounts from Org. You can get multitudes from either org or SW so get it this week in the easier run (plus you need nemesis + multitudes as the easiest vision run ever).
But there is a comprehensive guide on wowhead that you should have looked up and be following.

Ilvl and damage matter, but the biggest failure will usually come from stuns and/or sanity busters
8 masks would be around 681 im guessing

The passive sanity drain is almost irrelevant, the big problem is the sanity attacks and that’s where high ilvl and dps matters.
Some bosses have unavoidable sanity attacks the quicker you down them the less times they use it.

No because the passive sanity drain will NEVER be your run ender. Sanity hits absolutely will and with 8 mask many of them are 1 shots and the rest are ultra punishing to be effective 1 shots.
“Tanks for Watching” on YouTube has a bunch of videos on different classes/specs. Most of his are done in 650-670 gear. I picked up a few helpful skips watching him.
Honestly, my problem isn’t sanity in these things. My problem is getting killed by trash packs. They just shred me. Bosses are the easy part because they drop so quickly.
I think it really just depends on spec, and in my case the fact that I suck.

its way overtune and hardly players are doing 8 Mask because of its difficulty.
