What addons or weak auras are you using to help with horrific visions?
I have the potion weakaura that also tracks the duration of the buffs for me but I’m wondering if there are any other weakauras or addons that you like to have for horrific visions?
I never used any weak auras or add-ons for visions back in the day. All you need to know is the bad potion, and you should be grabbing all the rest. The only thing that truly matters is knowing each area, deciding on the best route for efficiency, and killing everything in sight without taking any breaks or getting hit by anything avoidable.
Pretty much just the potion one is all you need if you want nothing on a second monitor.
You’ll just learn a route as time goes on for both SW and Org and you’ll follow it every single time. When the tech tree is fully complete you can pretty much script visions. They will be the same pulls every single time.
I picked up a handy notes addon and it tracks if you’ve gotten all the chests/gems but it stayed on once I left the visions too so I dropped it. I’ll look into another handy note plugin once more come out.
The only other thing I can think of to track, would be Gift of the Titans, which apparently we won’t have until the 3rd week?

Why would you need one?
There is a big giant thing in the middle of your screen that tells you your sanity level is and everything else is pretty obvious.
I still have my old gift of the titans WA from BFA, I think I had a potion one but I must have deleted it at some point.
Ive not played them since bfa but the bad one is the one the dead body is holding isnt it?
There used to be an amazing one called 8.3 Horrific Visions/Gift of the Titans cooldown tracker. It still works amazingly now for running the old visions for
I’ve managed to get it to work in the new vision by adding “i2827” (the instance ID for TWW Vision of Stormwind) to the list of player location ID’s on the weakaura. Will hopefully be able to do the same for Org once it’s available. I imagine this technique would work for any of the old visions weakauras as well.
Notepad doing fine for me so far, just need the potion list.
A numeric sanity tracker/time to die would be nice though, since I cut it frighteningly close with the restore orb sometimes.

I have one that tracks which potions do what and the duration of my potion buffs.
You only really need to get two of the same potion because that’s usually enough duration to last the whole run. And the weakaura tracks that for me.
I also have an addon that tracks my sanity as an actual number so I can play a little riskier because I know exactly how much sanity I have or I might delay using a sanity potion because it will over cap my sanity.
At the end of the day clearer information helps you optimize more.
You are right, it isn’t mandatory. It was definitely super useful though.
If memory serves I used to use it primarily for making sure I got all chests and which potion to prioritize. They are “all” good (minus the color of the one at the beginning), but you get to a point in which you don’t really need to bother with any of them except maybe the sanity one in a pinch.

It is particularly useful early/midpoint of progression. Eventually you memorize everything and get to a point where you are so overpowered that it frankly doesn’t matter much - at least that’s how I remember it going.
Totally good – I’m not against addons/weakauras – just was not sure if they were necessary for this vision content but it sounds as though you have made good use of them!

that’s the route i use, roughly.
You’ll want something next week that tracks how many mob kills since your previous nemesis spawn. Since the mask has it spawn every 25 mobs and killing it regens 150 insanity.
Yeah once you unlock enough, the only thing that really matter was the potion tracking. And even then only really the sanity restoration color. But that was always true even back during BfA.
That said, with 3 additional masks added, I can also see the Gift Tracker functions being needed to optimize sanity maintenance for 8 mask runs eventually.
