After level 5 on the cloak, the HV’s get harder from what I understand from the vids.
Insanity orbs can get a player through it though but it’s probably a good idea to group up because you get more stuff that way.
*I can’t recall the name of that new currency to level the cloak but that’s what I mean by “stuff”.
Disagree with the logic. I should not be forced to pre-study in-game solo encounters. I prefer to learn on MY OWN.
This system punishes that way of playing.
Just because you don’t like to figure things out, doesn’t mean that “pre-study” is “the best” way to play WoW. WoW’s success depends on catering to different types of users. I believe visions are going to be adjusted in a huge way because it rewards only the wow nerd types, not the average player.

Exactly! So I do not mind failing. I do mind losing my entire 3 hour grind of materials and being locked out until next week just to try again. See? Bad system.
I tried as guardian druid first (429 ilvl with restoration essences since it’s my main spec and i don’t carry a bunch of azerite gear) and i ran straight to the guards with prowl, killed both and ran out of sanity when Thrall had 2k hp only lol
Second time I went restoration (i have no dps spec set) and killed both guards and thrall pretty quickly (as resto druid with feral affinity my single target damage is significantly higher than my guardian druid damage).
After that I got the orbs and cape upgrade so it became a lot easier.

This was my experience last night.
My main (Ret Paladin) was 427 going in. (420 starting the night, but you get like 4 pieces of gear including the cape before going to the first Vision) I soloed the Vision and finished with about 200~ ish sanity still left.
I didn’t charge in through the middle, as that pulls too many adds at the same time. Instead I took a slow approach from the left side clearing one pack at a time. I then Repentance one of the 2 adds standing in the front door. Dispatched the other then the repentance one.
Went in and downed Thrall.

They’ll probably give it like 6 months and then nerf them into oblivion.
The fact that this had no likes in over half an hour and was immediately responded to with venom tells me people are more interested in whining that stuff doesn’t roll over for them than learning.
This is a legit problem. Hell, even the mobile game I play has figured out that you shouldn’t make the more choreographed fights spend timegated resources unless they complete it. The core system is bad.
But it’s also true that these aren’t exactly new mechanics. Your first instinct on seeing a black zone should be to run out of it, and your first instinct on seeing a melee castbar should be to try running diagonally away to see if it’s dodgeable frontal or AOE. That really shouldn’t be an unreasonable ask this far into the game.
i burn through it on this character, i couldnt do it on my undergear monk tho.
After I got the orbs I’ve solod as a 424-430 destro lock np. Gonna try my 410 outlaw rogue when I get home from work.
Oh I’m not saying I’m gifted. I was getting stunned while moving from one safe zone to another - he does that in the middle of the AoE thing - and my sanity was draining super fast. That’s not a triple insta-fail mechanic I’ve seen much in my M+ runs, so i got owned.
I also got smoked by mob pack on the left before the first extra encounter who did ranged mind flays and just melted my brew tank. I mean… melted… fail.
Hey it is what it is, I’m not gonna do the dailies for now, I tried the system and didn’t enjoy it. No big deal. I’m totally happy to dive into M+ next week as is.
Aren’t the horrific visions supposed to be 1-5? Meaning… you know… solo?
You should be fine, just dont rush right down the center and pull everything
I’ve been trying to get into this patch. I’m gonna get as far along on the story as I can but I think its going to be a bust for me.
This farming 10k essence to run HV is too much of a grind. If this is going to be central to me progressing then I’ll just watch the lore videos when they come out.
For me this is not fun, and I have less and less interest in the next expansion.
How would you know if youre not interested in something if youve never done it
Easily soloable if you don’t get hit by any of Thrall’s mechanics and don’t die to the slow, telegraphed door guards.
If its more of this?.. I can say I am not interested.

Horrific visions are easily soloable. After you do your first one go and get the sanity orb increase for your cloak then you can start branching out in them. I managed to succeed on all the keys I have tried so far and am only ilvl 400.
I have raided, and done mythics. Not at all fun for me.
