On my demon hunter, horrific vision stormwind, my current cape level is 5. According to wowhead, to get the “fear and flesh” book, I got to defeat a side passage boss, not the main alleria. So I decide on the trade district route. Well, by the time I get to the district, I have like 60% left on my bar. Every piece of s**t trash gets pulled to me, even if I try to quickly run through and burn the group further down the way. I get dazed off my mount, the turds with mind flay are slowing me or worse, fearing me into more trash.
So I get into the trade district, tons of trash everywhere, trying to set the bombs and I am apparently exploding myself, leaving pools of fiery crap behind, flying through the air, losing sanity left and right, pulling everything to me. Not to mention the freaking boss I gotta kill, that has a bomb next to him that you must set. This is BS.
Am I doing something wrong? Maybe if I had twice the sanity bar I do now I might be able to do this vision.
I thought the timer on M+ was bad, and if you went over at least you could finish the dungeon. But these visions are absolutely horrible game design.

It’s your first time. It’s okay to fail. Do you want to beat it on first attempt? You need practice. Also, you need to benchmark those who can outwit the current mechanics… there’s tons in youtube. Do the best practices to avoid Corruption… Crowd Control. If you dont find one, I will make one.
Giving up cursing the game on failed first attempt wont get you anything. There are tools to beat it. Like when I was farming for coalescing visions, I got freaking recipes for alchemy and cooking… On cooking, there are more more food buffs against Corruption. I am starting to farm them before I start using again my Vessels. Oh you gave me an idea, I will farm and sell them all in AH. There is a food buff that shorten the range of range mobs. You see. You fail in Creativity.
2 failed attempts. Failures, imo, are expensive. It’s not like vessels are just lying about. 10k Coalescing visions aren’t exactly easy to come by. I bet my ninja rogue could just by stealthing past a lot of it.
I was asking for advice, not being berated for failure. Will check on the food and get my alchemist alt working on it.
Any other tips would be vastly appreciated.

I failed twice, well 3 times if you count the trade one I tried before the reset.
Then I failed dwarven.
I even made 20 of the K’bab, which is plus 100 sanity. That seemed to be working well, along with the orbs. So I was NOT rushing it this time.
In Dwarven, it was the stupid tentacle guy I can’t avoid well enough and just beats me down fast (hard to get away from.)
Plus, these things REALLY kill my FPS. I have all settings pretty low, but the extra corrupt stuff/shadows really bring my FPS down. This adds to the difficulty.
I just wanted to check that you know about the orbs to restore your sanity? You probably do but it sounded like you were trying to do it with a single sanity bar.
If you aren’t sure then it’s the first research you can do in the console next to mother in the chamber. You can only use it out of combat (so don’t wait too long) and it restores you to full sanity. It can be used three times in the vision.
Using this you should be able to take your time and clear slowly through the area.

Edited to delete my incorrect statement.
Consider finding a Video on the zones before exploring them. I know we want to just explore them ourselves and learn it, but like you said, failures are expensive. Or test on an alt first
. I’ll be testing on my alt before main just to know what to expect.
Consider getting the “prevents Daze” mount equipment. Water walking is better, but most of us can fly now, and the Daze ones are cheap.
Edit: also, not everything drains sanity. So, make sure you’re identifying which abilities do and avoid those. Again, a video may help there.
Personally, I would go to the Dwarven district because it’s A LOT easier than Trade district. Trade district is a lot more claustrophobic.
Another thing that helps: try to time your orb uses just before you pull something, that way you can just tank them on top of the orb. The orb prevents you from being fire flung while you’re inside it, so that helps a LOT.
I failed the first one mainly because the side area (i did Dwarven district) boss got me into combat as he spawned, so I did not get to use my sanity recovery orb.
Even though I lost a lot of time figuring out the enemies and the stupid new fire puddle insanity, it was completely doable if only I had known he had auto aggro (the 2nd boss of Orgrimmar, Garona side, which I did for rank 3, did not have this)
It was faceroll easy the 2nd time, and I had the Rank 4 cape.
I will be doing both side areas with a rank 5.
It does.
The being thrown around thing is so annoying and people are irritated af.
I’m not sure if this will help you at all but for the Stormwind vision this week I used a draenic invisibility potion and made a beeline across the court yard towards the trade district.
It kind of helped a little bit and saved me some insanity(check out some videos on line where the guards and globs are positioned so you don’t run into them while invisible).
Managed to make Rank 6
Sorry I couldn’t offer more help OP! Good luck! <3

Oh noooo. I thought the video I watched said it doesn’t… That’s why I was going to practice on an alt.
Why are people complaining so much more about trade than Dwarven then, if you don’t mind me asking? Trying to be prepared before hitting them tonight.
Trade is more narrow. So enemy placement is more annoying.
I haven’t done it yet, just speculating.
Also, to everyone, don’t be afraid of failing/experimenting (unless you’re a mythic raider and that’s your thing, or if you have no alts and want to be on top of your game).
I’m going in solo and blind to every new vision. It’s worth it for the fun of figuring out stuff for yourself.
Use potion for invisibility and work with mother at your Upgrades for the visions .
I got my back to 7 without fail . Btw SW looks harder …
Before to start the fight with the boss restore your sanity to Max

Why the rush thru the cathedral district to begin with? Just kill mobs as you go instead of dealing with multiple casters at once that don’t follow you.
Each zone has its own madness, pay attention to it when you enter the zone so you know how to react to it, and prepare for it. Trade district has scorched feet, which you should expect it to propel you forward while you move. Use it to your advantage to get from place to place instead of letting it shoot you past your target.
For the dwarven district, You can leave the bomb by the dwarf miniboss til the end as you’ll have to engage him to set it. Also leaves you that entire fountain area to kite him and dodge his attacks.
DHs really shouldn’t have much of a problem in these visions, with our toolkit. But you do have to pay attention to each area’s affix and plan accordingly, can’t just bum rush everything and hope for the best.
Also did you not have the sanity restoration orbs?
SW is definitely more annoying than Org so far.
Shawomeld helps a lot to scip trash
Not enough people are realizing that you CAN use invis potions here and i’m glad you brought it up

Well we have to use everything what we can … if we are solo!
The first thing what I do is to scip to the cathedral guards than I kill them , after that I mount up and move to the direction wich I need…
Btw … I am still angry that the Vision are only designed for dps and groups

I’m only just starting these, so I was feeling really intimidated after dying almost immediately in the first one that you get as a quest. Reading this thread actually has encouraged me.
If you just start the visions and your back it’s rank 1 … you have only to kill Alleria till rank 5
After this you need 2 pages from corrupted / hard area’s only … without Alleria
