The wording of the set bonus is
Set: Critical damage and healing have a chance to spur you on, granting Haste for 10 sec. This effect stacks up to 5 times
Lava Burst interacts with Flame Shock turning hits into critical hits on the target. But after playing with the set bonus on a target dummy, the bonuses do not activate for Lava Burst critical hits.
Yep, did the same test today, it does NOT proc from lava burst crit. Gotta be a bug
It does not even proc when lava burst crits naturally.
It appears to ignore lava burst by design.
This feels worse than getting the wrong legendary drops, because I sunk a month of spark collecting into these items.
When I first saw these items, I decided to build my character around it. If it is intentional, I will need to start a new shaman where I did not choose those spark uses.
Communication on this point would be greatly appreciated.
This is still an issue as of today.
Just tested this out, thinking that this set bonus would be nice. I come to find out it doesn’t even proc from the lava burst crit. Seems silly, since we’re basically getting cheated here. Hunter could easily keep this proc up…
Hey it’s now 12/23/2023. I was thinking of trying out this set with the new t31 bonuses. the current preferred stats are avoid crit at all costs and the vast majority of my damage would come from lava burst, which obviously is supposed to have 100% crit chance due to flame shock. does anyone know if this bug was fixed over the past year or if it still exists.
I currently do not have 2 sparks to test, nor would i like to waste 2 sparks to test, as sparks are an important resource currently.
It was resolved and the uptime reports are consistently >97%, especially with the new build.
