Horde warrior heroes

kay so ofc i didnt expect Saurfang to survive against Sylvanas. He was BY FAR my favorite character and his death got me thinking; who is actually left of the legendary horde warriors? There are mostly orcs, but still.

Orgrim Doomhammer, Garrosh & Grom Hellscream, Blackhand, Thrall before he became a shammy, General Nazgrim, Cairne Bloodhoof, Dranosh, Broxigar and last but not least Varok Saurfang. All awesome warriors respected ( to a degree) by others.

I am probably missing someone, but who are left for us warriors of the horde to be proud of and look up to ? Eitrigg? He needs some serious character development first…

And yes of course there are other races in wow that deserves attention, and new heroes will most likely replace the old ones, it just doesnt seem like anyone to idolize the same way after the High Overlord got his warriors death.

(English isnt my first language so im sorry for any errors)

WTB Nazgrel.

Seriously, where is he?

Eitrigg is really old, perhaps older that Saurfang, who was most likely around 60. That’s pretty old for an orc, especially one still trying to fight. Most of the iconic horde warriors should be in the retirement home by now if they’re not dead.

Ariok is still an orc warrior.

One big mistake on Blizzard’s part is they create these characters people like, then let decades pass in the lore and these characters die off before Blizzard even has the idea to create other characters to fill their roles when they’re gone.

Oh! Usha Eyegouge is one of my recent favorites even though she doesn’t have much backstory. Wish they’d make her more prominent going forward.

Usha has potential actually. I’ll agree to an extent with that. Could be a memorable warrior eventually

I’m probably going to get a lot of flak for typing this but I really want to see Cromush be further developed. He’s a notable example of the orcish element of the Horde that worked side by side with the Forsaken and now that Sylvanas has been removed from power Blizzard has a great opportunity to expand upon Cromush’s interactions with the Forsaken as well as the rest of the Horde.

I was honestly worried that they were going to Nazgrim him in the last chapter of the War Campaign. I’m glad to have been proven wrong.

…Niece of Saurfang and Broxigar, Wielder of the Axe of Cenarius, One-time Slayer of Xavius (before his death was randomly retconned for Legion)…

No interest?

Nazgrel falls into the same box as Eitrigg, i feel like. He have been there from the start, is a veteran and licensed badass but need quite a bit of development to be “up there” with the horde legends. Definately possible

He has such a dumb name, tho.

Im just disappointed they took away her High Warlord armor in favor of the new armor. Yeah it looks cool, but it doesn’t retain rank like the old sets do.

Knaak characters tend to not be very popular.

Dude you know she’s coming. Just look at the rest of the characters displayed in this expansion.

Do I want it? Not really.

Since when is this a thing? With all the hate on Golden right now, I’d think people would welcome a Knaak character, to break the tedium of the “Golden Boys” .

With the way they’ve been throwing opportunities in the trash left and right (essentially just ALL of Legion, Vol’jin and the Zandalari, ect.) I very much doubt it. If 8.3.5 or 9.0 isn’t Thura swearing an oath of vengeance upon Sylvanas for the death of Varok, then she’s simply never going to show up, which would be such a shame. I mean, if Blizzard is looking for opportunities to give us strong female lead characters, the writing is on the wall to introduce one.

Did we just disagree on something?

Can I ask why?

If they use Thura, they’ll either make her insufferable, or kill her. I want neither.

Golden gets more criticism now because she’s been consistently writing for blizzard and was hired directly by them as a writer. Knaak’s last WoW novel was what, Stormrage almost a decade ago now? And a lot of his original characters like Rhonin and Krasus were killed off. If his work is critisized less than Golden’s now, it’s only because he’s no longer a prolific Warcraft writer.

Honestly, with their current track record of misusing long awaited characters(Rastakhan, Calia, Turalyon/Alleria, Hakkar the Houndmaster, ect.) I can’t say I blame you for not wanting another ruined but I can’t agree either it’s just too obvious of a passing-of-the-torch.

They were killed off, but they weren’t necessarily “bad”. Both Krasus and Rhonin had pretty solid stories and heroic deaths that were impactful to the stories that followed them.

Or just because his work, in hindsight, really isn’t all that bad. Stormrage was quite good, as was Day if the Dragon and Dawn of the Aspects (literally just any novel he did involving the dragons was pretty solid).
