Horde vs Alliance Epic BG queues

I just want to share my alliance and horde experiences tonight queuing for epic BGs. Alliance I started at 8:30 MST and queued 3 epic bgs with about a 2 minute wait time. First was an IOC which we lost. Then it was Alterac Valley, which we lost. And finally, another Alterac Valley, which we lost. By this point, it’s 10:30 with absolutely no win, no conquest, nothing. I’ve sunk 2 and half hours for not a single reward. So I decide to switch to this horde toon. I’m horrible at fury, btw. I queue at 10:48. Guess when the queue pops? You may be thinking that since the average queue time says 12 minutes, it will take 12 minutes. Maybe even longer!

SEVEN MINUTES. I get an IoC.

I see the same players on the alliance who I was losing with just moments before, still attempting to just get the participation award of 65 conquest points.

We win in less than 20 minutes. I’m out of the epic with my shiny 65 conquest points, more convinced that ever that only Horde players get rewarded in epic bgs. Minimal effort.

So tell me again where the Horde is suffering horrifically long queue times?

Lesson learned: Only queue Epic Bgs as a Horde, it’s where you can suck and be useless and STILL get rewarded!

Idk, I just had an EPIC AV win as Alliance:

https://imgur.com/a/yByQ8KZ first of the night too

Dear God I just cringe at the thought of being in AV and have a match end with depleting resources.

Hell no, was a lot of fun. Looking like a Horde win as they had all bunkers burned, we had 2/4. Then we wipe them all at our boss and was GG from there.

I was too busy dropping in like a boss on a fight during Twin Peaks when a handful of Alliance were in the middle and I popped Avalanche Elixir, jump off the top of the Alliance base, use glider and turn into a massive flaming boulder that spiraled down where we wiped them from there and took home the bacon with ease shortly after.

Especially after I exploded into the ground and my Tauren popped back up, I hit my beautiful punishing Wings and made every one of them know I am the 2nd name of chaos and disaster.

Oh awesome!

Get you some of those Elixirs, and try jumping off one of the towers to a location where a group fight is going on and you’ll see what I mean.

Just make sure you don’t do it alone…

I’ll have to look those up.

They’re useful in many ways. If you make a slip up like I have many times and auto pilot yourself off a cliff you weren’t expecting, hit one of those and you don’t even have to use your glider to avoid dying.

That’s my favorite kind. The boss rush/race is so boring. HK’s baby!

@OP, I like your post because much of it rings true. In epic BGs there are usually enough horde players on the team who know enough basic strategy to carry a win for the rest of the team. Alliance typically does not have nearly as many such players, and on top of that they suffer from defeatist/bad attitudes, trolls, and actual AFKers (who often don’t get reported).

That all said there are some really stupid horde out there - like a few I saw last night - who would rather take 30 minutes to lose an AV than spend 50 minutes to win one. I honestly can’t believe the number of lazy horde in AV, of all the epic BGs. But then again maybe they are alliance alts or rerolls.

I also felt as if those annoying long overly large choke-bottleneck stalemate fights never EVER end.

That’s the beauty of epics. Games that last more than 10-12 minutes.

There’s too much PvE in that place. If I wanted to PvP with a bunch of NPC’s attacking me, I’d go piddle around Warmode.

And besides why go into AV, when you can party down in the Dal Sewers like me, dancing like a champ while the Horde aggressively fight each other for practice before killing more Alliance?

Saw some of the forum squad who haven’t been here in a little while like the Undead Lock, Bane.

Huh. I won my Ally side Epic in a single queue last night.

3 bunker recaps in a single game will do that. :smirk:

Then I went on my Horde toon and had a 25 minute queue to get into an IoC where everyone but me ignored docks and the glaives and we lost pretty bad. Had to wait another 20 minutes to get a WG in progress that was also a loss. Never did finish it.

Also could only find 6 alliance running around Naz during that whole time. :frowning:

Amazing…because I have those days/nights with Horde ALL the time lol. And sometimes 15-20 minute waits for epic bgs on top of it. I cannot tell you how many times I went crazy trying to get that conquest bonus. I would lose queue after queue with Horde only to merc and lose and again lol.

And no, it’s not me. If there is anyone who wants to win more than me I want to meet him/her lol. I play the crap out of objectives, even if it means me sitting and guarding farm in a boring match without doing 1 point of damage.

I swear to god it seems like i lose 9/10 epic BGs as horde.

as soon as I q merc i win instantly. dead srs.

horde have always sucked at the big maps because they think its all about kills when its actually all about map control.

You’re showing a win rate of ~50% of your epic BGs. I wish it would break it down and show the winrate of the ones you’ve merc’d.

You all are putting the blame on the horde got this or the alliance got this Is bull crap. just a few weeks ago I was doing good I was in the 85 to 95% win rate.

Now the last week and a half I have maybe won 6 BG’s. I think Blizzard switches it up from time to time. Does something to maybe make the other side win just a little more.

Right now you got a lot of alliance crying In just a few weeks you have horde crying. If you sit back and look on the forms From week to week you can tell who’s got the advantage.
