Horde should never have gotten elves

From a matter of perspective.

Based on pure definition:

‘profoundly immoral and wicked.’ they are evil.

Yea so that explains the mass QQ against belfs when they came out

You think the post about Vulpera were bad a while back. Imagine that but 20 fold

You’re only familiar with the retconned version of WoW. Back in Warcraft II, this was what the game manual said about the elves:

Out of the mysterious forests of Quel’thalas come the Elven Archers to aid the Alliance in its darkest hour. Descendants of the elder race of Lordaeron, these sylvan woodsmen are unmatched in their use of the bow. Unencumbered by helm or heavy armor, Archers are keen of eye and fleet of foot.

These Elves have long been embroiled in a bloody conflict with the hated Trolls of Lordaeron and are swift to let loose a rain of arrows upon any foe, including those that attack from the skies above

Rangers are a special cadre of Elven Archers who are intimately bound to the wildlands of Lordaeron. Their pursuit of mastery in Longbow, Marksmanship, and Scouting make them more rugged and even deadlier than their brothers - traits for which they are greatly feared amongst their enemies. These secretive and elite warriors have never involved themselves in the affairs of Humans, but when Horde onslaughts threatened to destroy the Elven homelands, they quickly offered their services to the Alliance. Although their numbers are few, their presence could change the course of the war if they are deployed wisely.

Regardless you’re about 13 years way too late. They fit in just fine now, and have been front and center for a lot of the Horde stories. So…I mean, 2006 called, they want their thread back?

It’s not like he’s calling for Belfs to be moved back to the Alliance. He’s just pointing out that they should never have been moved there to begin with, back in 2006.

Uh yeah, Warcraft II also said Elves had druids, and well that got changed. So - yeah…

Until the Blood Matriarch begged forgiveness from the space crystal. That was embarrassing to watch.

Orcs aren’t really pure evil… they were even described to originally be a very peaceful people. Some of the clans are evil, but the Frostwolves and such prove that some Orcs are fine.

And you’re acting as if the Alliance are the good people lol

Well this is the writers fault really. When Blood Elves joined The Horde, they were wretches. Outcast survivors who have given up their morality and faith.

They began manipulating dark magics to fuel their society, they tortured Naaru and enslaved The Light.

They were as Horde as Horde could be. Then Blizzard redeemed them into discount Humans the same expansion.

Not all elves are good or noble and some are monsters themselves.

Drow don’t exist, Horde has elves and will get more in the future.

What definition? The Void is absolutely not defined like that. Where are you even getting this from?

And yet they were the most played Horde race for the longest time.

Vocal minority.

I was there. And again, vocal minority.

No I’m not. I know their lore. All of it. My point still stands, because by the time they joined the Horde, their philosophy had changed. That’s why the Helfs who didn’t like it left.

Way to leave out the important parts. LOL

It didn’t specify whether the druids were elves or night elves. It just mentioned “Elven Druids” in passing:

The Runestone was an ancient monolith erected by the Elven Druids and inscribed with powerful runes of protection and warding.

In fact, the manual didn’t even mention Night Elves. Those were a Warcraft III invention, so in that sense you’re right. The Night Elves themselves are another example of retconning.

There is no difference between Liadrin, and a Human Male Paladin in the way she acts and talks.

That is how badly the writers have failed Blood Elves.

I disagree. Getting Elves has caused the most teeth gnashing from the Alliance in the entire games history, except maybe when we singed their treehouse. Totally worth it.

I like you, orc.

They did screw up Liadrin. I mean, I get the story. That’s fine. But she’s still a Belf. Now, she’s basically a female Turalyon.

The Blood Elves joining the Horde is one of the better story decisions they’ve made.

So happy people are dunking on Liadrin.

Should have been Ogres,

I would have named mine Palowaski

Except nothing about the blood elves was good, or noble. They trapped a deity in their basement and drained it dry of all life and energy to facilitate their own society and hung up demonic crystals in their bedrooms to power their place of living.

Absolutely nothing about blood elves was morally correct in the beginning, and like the rest of the Horde, they became less monstrous over time. You’re not a vile monster either. You are an honorable orc born of war-torn culture, and yet you found comradery among other races for the sake of bringing forth a better future for all.
