Greetings,
I’m going horde this time around and will be most likely going priest. I’m just really torn between which race to pick. I’ll most likely be pvping most and was wondering which do you think will be the best over all race as in Troll vs Forsaken. I will be going shadow later on in the game but holy/disc this phase seems more legit.
To me the looks don’t matter so much.
Does troll shadowguard affect the five second rule? Does the dmg scale with gear? How does it do vs melee classes?
Is DP worth it?
I’m thinking the Wotf will be better considering so many locks/warriors I will be facing… but also looking at DP, most will be able to remove it and it takes a ton of mana.
Between the two hex’s which is more useful in pvp?
Overall, I know it’s just phase one and we still have so much to learn but I am just wondering which worked better from your personal experience. I think the berserk would be great at fast healing but that Wotf is really holding me back from choosing Troll.
What are your thoughts, I’d love to hear them!
First time playing classic on the horde side, I’m looking forward to it. Thanks all.
As a horde player, you go as Shadow Priest as a flair. For PVP is better, the animations are better - the female warrior is one of the collest - in my opinion of course. But the underwater breathing thing is also great. Shadow resist is also helpful.
Wotf is cool even for some PVE, and it feels greats, specially in a place like Season of Discovery. Undead has some unique animations, and they are the only ones with barebones.
It is not as in alliance, where you are either a Dwarf Priest or you are just a casual player.
My priest on SoD would be undead for those reasons. My main in WoW Classic was a Disc Undead Male Priest with a pony tail.
Forsaken are just awesome, man.
There was some datamining that priest will be able to choose their main racial power.
Undead have the best racial for pvp. WotF is broken. Devouring plague, berserking and shadowguard dont compete in the same league as WotF for pvp. Go undead master race.
Thanks but as a human priest I do pretty well and mained it for years , back in BC I mained priest horde but was a BE for the AOE silence and mana, I left in Cata lol Honestly I hate how gear looks on both the forsaken and Trolls. But I love the forsaken’s jokes and just overall demeanor and lore. It’s crazy to think I’m going back to horde after twelve years, it feels so foreign to me… haha
Oh, I meant in Classic, Classic, because of Fear Ward, Dwarves were just the way to go - and in SoD, I would go Dwarf too - I just hope they make priest racials spels universal in SoD, such a silly thing now that they have a chance to balance it they refuse to. There will be fewer dwarf priest, for sure. But at least people won’t be forced to play a Dwarf just because of Fear Ward.
Oh, and talking about going horde - I feel the change from Stormwind to Undercity very subtle. Durotar plays, and feels, more like a harsh desert.
oh shooot! I forgot about that!!! That changes things a lot! But isn’t it just based on faction?
Undead priest is the BiS aesthetic
Undead for WotF is best for PvP all around. Trolls priest racial shadowguard is nice for blackout procs and their hex is the only MS effect at level 25 so that is something. There are rumors that priests will be able to do a quest that swaps their racials and if that’s the case undead become absolute no-brainer best on horde side.
Unless I missed a post, it doesn’t seem clear on the mention about priest racials being locked on factions alone. The fact that they’re doing this though makes it seem like they want mainly fear ward being available to all priests in my opinion, since it was later allowed for all priests past vanilla. Guess we’ll know the answer in a couple days though.
The undead racial for fears, sleep, etc. that doesn’t have to deal with priest is really nice to have for pvp/pve though. I also like both male and female casting animation. Casting animations are huge for me after racials. If I were to play Alliance again in SoD and can pick fear ward regardless of race, I’d go female NE in a heart beat as I love their animations lol.
Troll. Shadowguard + blackout is great.
And they look cooler.
I feel that the human female casting the healing spells has such a “stout” pose, it fits so well with the whole cleric. The way the night elf female move her wands while defensive spells is kinda weird for me for holy spells. I really like the night elf female casting animation, with a bent knee. The night elf make is kinda “anime aswell” I guess.
Speaking of wand casting, I found female orc wanding to be so strange looking lol. If I remember correctly, they would like lean back and then lean their upper bodies forward a lot. It just looked strange which was a shame as I like female orcs, I have a shaman and hunter and their animations for casting/shooting are nice. Just the wand animation though…made it a no for warlock to me lol. Good thing I discovered it by mailing them a wand at level 5 and rerolled to a new race quickly
Orc females scoot forwards and back while wanding.
It’s like they wanna go in and stab something but recoil when they remember they just have a little stick in hand.
To the topic - even if priests can “choose” to learn another race’s previously unique spell (ie Shadowguard or Devouring Plague) choose undead as you’ll be happier with wotf.
Trolls don’t Air Guitar, man.
