I wanted to try healing priest for the first time because i like the 1800 set. Is it worth going orc now that its doable, or is undead still better?

speaking from a (most seasons 1800+ priest) the race doesnt matter too much for that rating, but undead, and orc probably offer the most benefits with your second trinket to fear or charm as undead, and the stun reduction as orc.
outside of that the other races have their benefits. tauren has a bit more stam and you have warstomp.
troll has a haste buff.
Pandaren gives you one extra cc (quaking palm)
overall none of them will make you a better player, but can help in different scenarios.

Fair point. I will be choosing based on which race looks cooler in the new mog.

Ive been told a proper mog can account for up to and including 30% of your dps or healing
undead is best for horde. orc not as good anymore due to trinket set bonus, but bloodfury at its strongest atm due to early in the expac.
don’t feel compelled to play a race you dont want, especially if it’s an alt.
i dont think orc is worth as a healer anymore. worth as a spriest since it still has value and gives highest dmg in pve!!!
That’s the way to go! As you can tell by my mog I don’t ever intend to look cool. Lol but unless you’re pushing rank 1 or awc cups the min/max from racial won’t matter that much that’s for the tourney players to worry about

I play nightborne and our racials are utter trash. Usually hit 1800 every season on my priest as I don’t care to push above mogs gains in pvp. So I am sure w/e you pick you’ll be fine. Just prepare to suffer if you do shuffle
