Horde player housing neighborhood will include Ashenvale

Link to where Dratnos discusses this in his preview. Unfortunately, screenshots/pictures are not yet publicly available.

So the Alliance neighborhood will be a mash-up of Elwynn, Westfall, and Duskwood (three undisputed Alliance territories) and the Horde neighborhood will be a mash-up of Durotar, Azhara, and… Ashenvale?

I know that virtually all faction antagonism has vanished in the past few expansions, and I know that both Horde and Alliance characters can freely visit each other’s neighborhoods, but this feels like a step too far for me, especially since it probably locks out Ashenvale from appearing in a future night elf themed neighborhood.

… am I missing something? He just said the neighborhood is at the intersection of three zones where Orgrimmar stands. Nothing about that implies anything about Ashenvale re: Alliance.

i don´t think this either.

Are you sure about this or is it just a supposition from him? I don’t know how it could be possible when it should be Durotar, Azshara and the Barrens. Ashenvale for Horde would be so ridiculous.

If the matter if just about a forest being in the neighborhood or something, it’s important to remember that in the Orc Heritage armor quest chain we did get the reveal that the forest of Thunder Ridge was getting renewed.

So it seems to speak about the ambiance: it seems inspered by Durotar, Azshara and Ashenvale.

It could be inspired by the Southfury River or the Overgrowth with the Nightmare Scar.

Good point here. I hope it’s this because it could be a great thing coming from this heritage quest. :dracthyr_yay_animated:

Now curious if we’ll see Grom’s memorial from the neighborhood. :telescope::robot:

I’m curious to see what sort of effect Housing Neighborhoods are going to have on Open World RP and City RP

I was actually hoping there would have been an Exodar block

If the Duskwood thing is true, than I’ll be happy. It is the first spooky forest I fell in love with after all :wolf:

Great. Another L for the night elves. Thanks Blizzard.

Duskwood used to be slightly disputed, what with the Forsaken outpost.

If this entire thing regarding “Including ashenvale” is even partly true…

Honestly, it’s not just “another L” — it’s the accumulation of them that makes this so exhausting.

So yeah — it’s not just “another L.” It’s a sign that Blizzard still doesn’t understand — or worse, doesn’t care — what this race means to the people who’ve stood by it since Warcraft III.

It’s really a shame that it’s once again this rigid setup: Horde = Orgrimmar, Alliance = Stormwind. It just feels so uninspired. Housing could’ve been a great opportunity to introduce something fresh—more creative, neutral, or even entirely new zones. But instead, it’s the same old division as always. Pretty disappointing.

Ashenvale was never in night elf control. It was contested since vanilla. The Warsong been present since Warcraft 3. And Thrall never punished them because he knows the Orcs need the lumber.

It’s literally night elven territory

no it isn’t. Its neutral. Like most zones. If you complain about Ashenvale I will raise you tiragade keep in Durotar.

Tiragarde Keep is irrelevant

Because it’s not changing the fact that Ashenvale is Night Elf territory

It is a fortified alliance presence in the heartland of the Orcs. It shouldn’t exist.

Irrelevant.

It’s not changing the lore status of Ashenvale
