Horde Pally and Ally Shamans incoming

Yeah, do it asap so people who want to play shaman or pally have time to level and get ready for the Scarlet Crusade raid! Wahoo!! While you’re at it, make the new Scarlet Crusade raid 25 man for more diversity in the raid with the additions of paladins and shamans to each faction. God bless.

3 phases to late but I’m hoping it finally happens. Would love to see some shamans around.

Don’t see the point in 25 man. That aside:

I personally don’t see it happening soon if at all. At most I could see us having some change of pace after P8, and we could just sit in basically their testing ground while they develop Classic Plus. If that is the case then I am implying around a year gap between SoD and whatever it’s continuation may be.

That said, it’s the only way I see cross faction pally/sham making sense. It’s enough to keep a lot of people around, because not only is it a new class but it’s new comps. SoD was also supposed to be an experiment, so it gives the devs a chance to test the waters with cross faction pally/sham without cementing them in Classic+ for sure, while also letting us finish P8 before whatever comically imbalanced mess adding Shaman + Pallys into the mix.

The idea comes with obstacles. Obstacles Aggrend said are not in the scope of SoD, but he said that I believe over a year ago, that could have changed. But for now it’s a relevant quote.

  • Rune acquisition (They made a vendor, possibly a 2 birds one stone solution to bring in pally/sham later? Could be!)
  • Ability stacking. Shaman and Paladin have abilities that are meant to do the same thing but apply in different ways. Yes you can make them not stack, but how easy is that? Do Shaman not drop totems while a Pally is in the group? How does Sham Rage work? Do we start putting debuffs on people that benefit from either class’s mana regen?
  • Gear. Not a hard one to fix but we’ll certainly see bugs introduced.

All of these can be overcome, hell they could have some curveball solutions I would never think of, they do that all the time in Classic. But I am not expecting it personally. Too many assumptions of mine would need to prove true for this to make sense.

Spoilers: Seasonal servers are the Classic Plus they intend to develop.

Like. What’s easier.

Making, basically, WoW 2.0 with new abilities, new zones, maybe new Races and even Classes (ie Necromancer; a certain Private Server has a version with new Classes). All of which competes with WoW Retail because “new stuff to do”.

Or.

Slap a new coat of paint on Vanilla-era and have it last ~2yrs before starting over.

Teo Hmmerstorm is on the PTR in coldridge valley now after the most recent ptr update, he isn’t listed as a shaman trainer, but his dialogue when you talk to him is a nod to him having the ability to become a shaman. I really hope its not just a nod to cata dwarf shamans, and they just add it.

Good ideas also demon hunter so i play it tank in bgs.

need more panda

Imo dks should be in SoD.

Why ? Because if You don’t wanna play cata- Pandaria You can’t play DK.

Retail dk is a disgrace and have nothing to do with old dk.
