Thanks for that information Einya. I think I will wind up on Area52. After talking to some people to Tich, it seem Tich would feel a lot more empty to me especially late at night.
I play with Warmode off. I was informed the MAJORITY of the Horde on Tich leave Warmode on. So when out doing dailys I wont see the majority of the player base. However most of Area52 Play with WM off. Thats a pretty big deciding factor there.
I am not sure how true this is however. I am going to look into that further. Its just what I have been told from someone who moved from Area52 to Tich due to the server Qs on Area52 on major patches/expansions. He is actually moving back to Area52 because of it soon. He said hed rather deal with the Q and have more people to interact with when playing
War Mode isn’t really relevant. You end up sharded now, I think. My experience is usually that one side always presents itself as stacked anyway.
I have not experienced any queue times on Area 52. (Maybe once with like a 55 player queue?) Anything else would be patch-day related lag that’s universal, such as Zereth Mortis being painful on day 1, but fine on every day after. Same stuff we saw with Korthia.
Yes it is! If you are out doing dailys with WM off and the Majority of your server is playing with WM on? You will never see the majority of the players while out doing dailys or farming rares.
When I am out and about in the world I like my server to feel like it’s hopping regardless of time of day
Im just gonna say this now.
If getting camped for 2 hours simply because you can be camped for 2 hours, does not appeal to you, then tich is not for you
It’s also latency to the server (the time between you pressing a button and the server processing it). I get 30-40 ping to EST servers, and 80-90 ping on PST servers.
Easily Area 52. I have some horde toons over there. Nice folks and very active. I am not sure about Tich, but I played a few toons there many moons ago. Not anymore. I have one hard rule now, NO ILLIDAN. HORRRRRRRRIIIDDDDD PLAYERBASE THERE! I tested a toon there and it was VERY BAD!
Other good options would be bleeding hollow or malganis as well.
Best bet would be too make a toon on each server and test your MS. Also could check out the guilds on the server forum to find one that might match your schedule/goals.
Not that it really matters but I think Tichondrius has a higher proportion of the top PvPers and also just slightly better faction balance (probably because humans used to have the best racials for PvP), so it’s less likely to be 100% dead on Alliance side if you want to play both factions or keep your options open for 9.2.5
If you don’t care about that then I believe Area 52 has the highest population of any realm and it’s almost all Horde
