This is happening atm and I can’t figure out how they do it. Some War Mode exploit?
I thought the topic was “but can’t win a BG”
That might be why they feel the need to compensate like this.
- are you in warmode as well?
- are they ducking into the inn to escape? ive seen this happen in orgrimmar every time the pally would start losing life/ use his cooldowns heʻd duck into the inn and phase to another shard. They eventually stopped him by blocking the way into the inn with a few dracthyr using knockbacks
No one can attack them, they roam at will in plain sight attacking NPCs and, maybe, other players (mine was just a 73) and can not be touched.
You can flag outside of warmode. However there is a setting that prevents you from attacking flagged players if you don’t manually flag yourself first to prevent unintentional flagging.
Don’t player characters only get pvp turned on if they attack npcs that are noted as being opposite faction pvp (ie guards etc)? If you just kill a random npc or questgiver its likely not going to trigger that pvp state?
Pretty much all npcs in a town are flagged as pvp for their faction, this includes quest givers and innkeepers.
Pretty sure you have to manually flag yourself outside of Warmode.
there was a /enable pvp i think that can flag you for pvp whille not being in warmode.
So the question is, OP, did you or anyone else specifically flag yourself for PvP. Which you can do outside of a city as I recall.
Yes, if you r-click your character icon, there is a “player v player” option which can be turned on or off.
So these Horde players can get flagged for attacking NPCs and then turn off the flag? Or is it that everyone else isn’t turning on their own flag? Seems really messed up.
They enabled PvP and starting attacking PvP-enabled NPCs. Just enable PvP yourself to fight back.
Hey, you come into my hood an start messin’ 'round?? I shouldn’t have to ask permission to kick them up the backside, eh?
You’re not, you’re just enabling the “kicking up the backside” option.
No.
I just went and checked. To attack an opposite faction npc I had to turn on PvP. So I did, attacked a NPC and then turned it off.
I got the message : You will be unflagged for PvP after 5 minutes of non-pvp action in friendly territory.
So you can’t just turn it on and off as you remain in unfriendly territory. If the players you mentioned turned on pvp to attack npcs in Goldshire, then they would remain being targetabble (even if they turned it off) until they left the zone and went to a friendly zone.
That’s not entirely true, unless they changed it. All they would need to do is unflag and then fly high into the air and wait out the 5 min. It’s not leaving the zone and going to a friendly zone, it’s just being out of combat. So if you wanted to, you can just zip to Crystal Lake to wait it out, unless players are actively hunting you down I suppose.
if this is on moonguard they are doing gods work hopefully they go the innkeeper got only knows what horrors the npc has seen it would probably thank you
Horde and alliance fight in the backyard of the inn there. NPC section is more where alliance duels alot. at least when I played till DF.
But that’s not fair to the players that are trying to complete quests. It’s annoying as heck. But PvP happens, and NPCs get killed, so I guess players have to wait it out, unfortunately, which I’ve done numerous times.
