Horde is the new for kids race

When I started back in Vanilla, Alliance was the race for younger people/kids. Playing horde meant a more mature player base - not as a rule - but on average.

Now the tables have turned, Alliance has become a lean core of hardcore older players, and it’s great. I do miss playing on my original main, but honestly the raiding/pvp scene on Alliance is just hard to get away from.

I’m honestly hoping they don’t rebalance the factions at this point.

I play horde however I’ll be 100% honest with you about this subject.

Teenagers with endless free time are the hardcore Raiders. Since the majority of the hardcore raiding guilds and well pretty much all of them are Horde it attracts that teenage audience.

Since the normal working adults with limited play time don’t really have the time to care about such things they tend to stay Alliance or Worse leave horde for the alliance to avoid the large incoming flights of teenagers.

About two months ago a poll was done by G4 and it was shown that the alliance had far more people over the age of 35 than the horde did.

Also, I don’t have to watch my faction turn into UWU vulpera, which is just a nice bonus.

I’m talking about maturity, not numbers of guilds progressing. Alliance guilds are just a pleasure to be in with way less drama.

My post above is probably the most honest response you’re going to get

“lean core of hardcore players”

We still have mythic progression guilds, ours are just more mature. My guild is 7/12 and we’re not even that active of a server.

But the fact that people think that the number and not the quality is what matters is why the Horde has become a magnet for the kind of stuff I’m glad to be rid of.

Well another thing doing it is The Horde themes I mean if you look at their races and themes is quite obvious that it’s going to attract someone under the age of 35 before the Alliance will.

It’s just the fact of the matter that the Alliance will appeal to an older generation.

“Lean” being the key word, because there’s not that many left. Bah dum tish.

Declaring yourself more mature is the least mature thing possible.

The word mature has a double meaning.

The way the OP used it, it was meant as “older”. Not being more mature.

For example I would refer to my grandfather as mature in age

The Horde has been full of perpetual tweens since TBC, thanks to Blood Elves. It’s been a thirteen year snowball effect since then.

“For the selfie!”

Well uh… being in my late 30’s, and still playing video games, I guess I am glad I can be on the faction for the young at heart? I guess? Does it work that way? I’m not sure now.

This is 2020 gaming isn’t nerd niche anymore. At least I’m willing to believe it isn’t.

Agreed! But what does that make Worgen? Swole furries

Horde players will always try to say “Alliance is the boring faction lulz, all humans lulz”

At the same time they will say “Alliance is were all the kids are lulz”

Without realizing how ridiculously absurd is to think that all kids would go to the side with the “boring races”

Yes. Horde is for a younger audience, which is why it’s thriving now that the game is 15 y/o, it’s also a reason why they added vulpera to the Horde, to keep the money machine growing.

Worgen aren’t as popular with the furry audience in my experience. I’m guessing because female worgen were so damn ugly until this year.

I don’t think that’s what the OP meant. Basically I think what the person is trying to say is…
If you’re coming into the game by yourself and not following friends and an older player the alliance will be more appealing to you.

The younger crowd wants to be part of the hip and edgy faction

If I’m going to be a furry I want a big hulking wolf man not a sassy, yappy dog.
