Horde favoritism is ruining WOW

Error: What-if speculation detected.
I’d say people have been upset enough as it is that I personally think you are simply incorrect with their intention.

I think you are naive about how corporations behave. Dividing their customers is a classic control tactic.

It is, but keep in mind just how many people are arguing for cross-faction now, and that voice keeps growing.

Our major lore characters are being killed off, turned into villains, or worse, Mary Sues, we have lost the vast majority of the battles this expansion, the ones that stay lick Alliance boots like it’s going out of style, and we get the same re-used “horde does bad thing, have revelution, must redeem” storyline for expansion after expansion, yet the Alliance is portrayed as if they are collectively Jesus’s second coming.

If you call that favoritism and you want it, by all means, have it. We don’t want it.

I will also concede this point, so long as you include high-rise towers with lots of open walls and greenery for the trolls.

I’m surprised to say this. But for once I agree with you.

Pretty sure we can work all that in. Taurens would also appreciate some greenery as well i suppose.

I’ve been liking BFA. I like the story and I don’t feel as though there’s a horde bias. Maybe the perceived volatility of the horde leadership allows for a bit more flexibility in how Blizzard starts their expansion narratives?

I don’t know. I’m not that wise, so I shouldn’t jump-to-conclusions-mat this stuff.

I like all the characters so far in BFA: Anduin, Sylvanas, Saurfang, Tyrande. I’m probably a boring one to contribute here, but I just like the warcraft story. I hope I don’t ever come across as a faction-fanatic. Sometimes I do, but I try to hold it back. I mailed 70/30 ally/horde over my play time.

Your reconstruction story has got me thinking: it would be cool if there was a post-war monument built somewhere to allow the veterans of the fourth war time to reflect. Would maybe even give the visitor a buff to visit the opposite faction’s cities, it would only last 15 minutes to prevent any game-play issues. After the buff ends, you’re transported back to the “peace gardens.”

Maybe I should keep my hippy tendencies to myself…?

I mean…I SHALL REBRAND YOU HEATHENS ANEW! I. AM. THE. LIGHT

Frankly, I don’t even really care anymore.

Who lost BFA? We all did. We’re the ones who played it.

I fully support you for re-designer of Orgrimmar. I’m sure Gazlowe will pay you what you’re worth! <3

I still have a hard time believing some people think the devs skew the game’s direction in the favor of their favorite make-believe team. Whatever that even means.

Sorry to break it to you, the “horde favoritism” thing is a figment of a lot of forum posters imagination.

It’s spurious. Not genuine. And it’s worth… nothing.

We’d all be a lot better off in the Alliance if others on our side stopped this almost craven conspiracy theory junk and just recognize the good we do have and get that’s basically entirely on par with what they give the Horde on the other side.

And you know this how?

Love how a team of developers. That on average comprise of 12 teams, each team holding between 20-50 members each are some how all Horde only players cause a few key employees who said they (the key employees that we known by name and face) play horde.

The handful are probably Horde mains, but pretty sure the rest of the devs; play alliance or both sides as well (and that is if they play at all.)

And Story bias != gameplay bias, which is what this thread was about before it got derailed.

The absolute LAST thing alliance needs is additional pretty RP races. Horde getting pretty things and Alliance getting the better racials is what we need in order to change the perception of casuals and RPers going alliance and horde being the home of ‘proper’ players. Blizzard then does this (foxes and droids) and yet somehow it’s portrayed as yet more horde bias.

Alliance won and Horde lost almost everything this expansion. Yes most of it was shown in game, but to see it, you had to play both sides. Given the warfronts were a gameplay feature the outcome was never going to be shown in game or else the horde wouldn’t really have had much reason to do them. The win state requirement of the loud few is so unreasonable as to be ridiculous; will never be achieved in a multi-player, multi-faction game.

I see complaints about alliance performance in MDI, raiding and pvp. I’ll give them raiding currently but MDI and pvp seems to be alliance ruled now. Someone in an anti destro thread posted a pvp ranking site and when I checked it alliance at the top were outnumbering the horde by a decent amount. MDI is not only alliance dominated it’s almost a Night Elf exclusive club.

Oceanic Alliance outnumber Horde, so obviously the “bias” isn’t systemic but rather player perception, participation rates and choices.

Why does this not filter down to pity party posse? New players considering buying into warcraft would check out the forums and head for horde based purely on the histrionics of the vocal unhinged.

I saw someone mention the bee…

Remember when Horde players were screaming about the bee mount and alliance favoritism? I’ve seen maybe four alliance players with it due to it being locked behind a rep grind that the average player doesn’t have time for.

When alliance gets nice things, they’re hard to acquire. When they’re given something without hardship, they usually suck and aren’t something anyone would want.

I agree with an above poster, though, it’s less favoritism and more centrism. It’s almost like Horde is played by the developers and they are so out of touch with alliance that they don’t know what to give alliance players… Oh, wait.

I’m not aware of this but did they nerf it to the ground?
If so, I guess I expected it if thats the case.
The only reason to make one was the racials and if thats gone,
Vulperas are so much better aesthetically. That alone is horde favoritism.
Mechagnomes to me personally, look like a lazy addition to the allied races.
Vulperas are so unique in comparison.

I guess Blizzard put effort in to KulTirans since I remember reading they designed them from ground up, but they’re basically just thic humans.

I wish alliance could get something unique as Vulperas.

So the Alliance has to play the Horde in order to see that they won? I feel that there is something inherently flawed with that statement.
