It’s come to the alliance attention that Horde are using level 1 alt accounts to talk to patrolling vendors, specifically the pie vendor. [Removed] and [Removed] today were both talking to one, keeping them from roaming so that they can get to and camp the IF flight path easier. Many people reported both accounts despite it not being a direct violation of ToS, however exploiting in this fashion I am sure is. With the already imbalanced population, this type of behavior is truly pathetic. If you see it being done, report it, and hopefully in time Blizzard will soon realize how big of a problem these faction spies are becoming and start implementing IP locks. At least then they’ll have to start using VPN’s to help them cheat.
That’s smart and doesn’t deserve a ban, next lvl plays.
Absolutely deserves a ban. Its clear cut case of exploiting game mechanics to gain an unfair advantage.
There’s nothing clever about cheating the system, it’s just a matter of having less shame than the average person.
It could at best be considered zone interuption. /wave at a guard chasing an enemy player will also cause that guard to stop chasing them, if only for a moment. We used to do thisd for the NE players that world come /dance on the crates outside ORG AH a long time ago.
Reporting your post for having someones name in it and trying to create drama. Also you have a terrible name. GG
How does stopping a pie vendor from roaming make it easier for them to camp the flightmaster?
Removed the name, was unaware of this rule. They will see it in the reports many of us filed anyways. And thats great I like it, didn’t name it for you. And lastly, not trying to create drama, bringing an exploit to Blizzards attention. Thanks for the response.
Or an interesting use of ingame mechanics. Players have been doing this since the launch of the game - and you expect them to call it an expolit now because it happened to you?
If nothing else it’s keeping a dishonorable kill away from the sappers and mass AOE they are using. I assume it would also trigger guard agro if hit with damage. And Galdin, I don’t know what universe you live in where registering an alternate account to not play the game, but to exploit NPC’s to help your other account on the opposing faction more easily kill players and avoid dishonorable kills is acceptable, but the one I live in it’s exploiting/cheating. Zone interruption is fine if you are doing it from your actual account and in a way that’s not against ToS, but this isn’t simply killing a flight master. This is something above and beyond and at the very least the players doing it should be punished. They are doing something that can not be done normally in game from one account. Period. And I in no way feel special enough to think that just because I died as a result of it , that it should change the game. It’s affecting my entire server. Watching you try to spin this into acceptable behavior or somehow my own problem is very interesting. I played from Vanilla through Wrath and never saw this happen, although I agree I am sure it’s been done for years. If nothing else this post will help shine light onto the exploit and I am sure more people will now start doing it, maybe coming to a server near you. And when this type of stuff is happening and affecting your game play, maybe you’ll care then, or maybe you wont.
All of these horde/ally team ups are pathetic. How are you going to screw your faction to help yourself?
Was trying to aoe grind on my mage and a 60 priest kept killing me and leaving the guy right next to me up… finally called him out on knowing the priest and…poof gone.
It isn’t even a team up, although that also is happening. This is someone’s alt whos name I removed. They literally said from the level 1 account “im so glad this vendor can’t patrol next to my undead priest. its like this was intended or something”.
You take this game wayyyyyy to seriously. Ppl like pie, so what
So they atleast pay for 2 accounts. How they decide to use those accounts in game is completly upto them. Just because you think something is an exploit, doesnt mean it is.
Head to the in game bug report or bug report forum and add a possible bug for blizzard to investigate. If it deemed a bug or unintended behaviour then and only then can they consider it an actionable ‘exploit of in game bugs’
It’s pretty weak either way. I admire creativity, but for the sake of being a jerk?.. not a fan
Part of the risk of camping in a city is DKs, from say the pie vendor. Another part is that guards will be called in to defend civilians when enemies are spotted.
This uses a second alliance account, in order for a Horde player to avoid both of those intended consequences.
They also frequently safe spot into areas where guards evade bug- which Blizzard has recently said is against the rules. Ultimately- they’re exploiting.
They’re using an Alliance second account to change guard and civilian behaviour in order to make it easier for their Horde account to get kills. That’s a blatant exploit- that sort of cross faction collusion was meant to be prevented by not permitting players to roll characters on both factions on pvp servers.
It’s exploiting- report it, maybe eventually Blizzard will start handing out bans. It’d be great if they give out a few weeks worth of bans as the exploiters are reaching rank 12-13, sending them back months of grinding.
It’s bad for everyone when the people with the most honour are those that have none at all.
“Fifteen bucks is fifteen bucks.”
Blizzard
You can kill every pie vendor in the game and you won’t get a single DK unless they’re a questgiver.
Behavior like this is why the finance industry is so heavily regulated; to keep the smart and ambitious in line with the average people.
It’s not just quest givers.
" The civilian tag was added to the game by Blizzard in an effort to stop high level players camping quest NPCs or vendors without penalty, as this could become a major source of grief for lower level players on older servers." - wowpedia
There is a reason they are doing it. I don’t think they put the cart before the horse and started manipulating this one specific NPC’s path before discovering it gave DHK’s. Especially considering at one point it was being sat on by 3 alt accounts. However being an alliance myself, the civilian tag does not show for my own factions NPC’s.
