Horde Druids

Who cares? They’re druids. Go hug a squirrel and chill

Teldrassil wasn’t corrupted any longer. It had pushed out all corruption from its roots and core. So there’s nothing to flow anywhere.

The druids sorrowfully destroyed the world tree, believing that this act would halt Yogg-Saron’s corruption. What they did not know, however, was that Yogg-Saron had used the world tree to open the way for the Old Gods to access the Emerald Dream. The Old Gods spread their corruption into the Dream through the door that Yogg-Saron had opened.[7] While Yogg-Saron opened the Emerald Dream to its brethren, it was apparently N’Zoth who was most active in corrupting it.

It doesn’t matter if a tree exists or not. The Dream became the pathway of corruption. And now we have Thros.

The description supports what I said. Those who inhabit the dream change it and when they’re removed so is their changes. No life, no emerald dream. The realm it sits in would still be there but it would be empty without druids and life to fill it.

If something bores into the earth and then is removed, the hole it made is still there. Just like the rift of aln.

Which is it?

And who control this realm? N’zoth or Gorak’tul?

I don’t think we know? Gorak’tul could be the Xavius of that realm for all we know.

I’m on mobile so it’s a bit annoying to search.

It would be nice if it would be N’zoth because that would mean that all 3 zones in Kul Tiras were corrupted by him.

Pfft corrupted? I think you meant to say blessed you heathen!

I forgot that humanoids with tentacles are servants of Old Gods, sry.

No it doesn’t. The Emerald Dream in it’s original form is a reflection of what Azeroth would have been without the intervention of the mortal or immortal races after the titans Ordered Azeroth. Therefore, a mortal-planted tree like Teldrassil will NOT have an actual dream-presence in the Emerald Dream, although it’s influence can be felt. There’s a big difference between influencing the dream from physical Azeroth vs being in the Dream itself.

It is however, this ability to influence the Dream via the druidic magic empowering it that allowed Xavius and N’zoth to corrupt Teldrassil, and through Teldrassil the Dream, with the same thing happening with Yogg’saron and Andrassil. The Great Trees, in particular Andrassil, was a mistake. Andrassil was the tree that allowed Yogg-Saron to corrupt the Dream in the first place via it’s ability to open ways into or influence the Dream.

There’s a reason why the Aspects refused to bless Teldrassil when it was first created, and why every other Great Tree is now fiercely guarded by the green dragonflight. It’s not because the Great Trees help strengthen the Dream. It’s because the damn things are portals into the Dream, that let outside forces like the Old Gods influence and corrupt it when they normally have no way in.

Sorry, but I’m a holy angel.

The druids were never originally part of it and they don’t need to be in it. So I’m not sure where you’re getting this from.

Ysera herself cannot control or shape the Dream, which has its own ecology and a variety of inhabitants, both sentient and non-sentient.

You’re getting saronite corruption mixed up with the Nightmare. Two entirely different things.

Being vulnerable has zero to do with the fact that it was entirely cleansed. Something can be clean and still vulnerable. I’m not sure how that’s even a question.

My assumption is that it works much like the Nightmare. Created by N’zoth and “ruled” by one who was twisted into that corruption. Same way Xavius was Nightmare Lord.

Thros is an off shoot of the Nightmare, so it is still a part of the Old Gods corruption, which is mostly N’zoth’s creation.

Yes and no. Yogg didn’t reach through Teldrassil, it was planted much later, Xavius’ corruption didn’t hold. The green dragon flight you speak of doesn’t exist anymore, they became the nightmare dragons. The emerald dream in its Native form would look that way however its heavily influenced by the life of its corresponding areas. That’s why it looks different depending on where its entered from.

Yogg-Saron didn’t corrupt the dream he only opened the way for the other old gods.

That’s a mistake. The Emerald Nightmare was created by Yogg Saron but was later the playground of N’zoth. Xavius wasn’t twisted. He served N’zoth to take revenge on Malfurion.

I made a thread that lasted 3 posts guessing that it’s going to be like the Deku Tree from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. (Which dies, but leaves behind a seed.)

What are the odds of a new world tree being planted? Where would be a good location?

Its the same thing. Its literally the same. Its old god corruption and that corruption always leaves a stain, always. You’re arguing in circular logic and contradicting yourself. The dream is a reflection of Azeroth and not everything is known about it, even its creation.
" Some believe that Freya wove the Emerald Dream into being from nothing. Others claim that this strange place had always existed in some form, a dream born from Azeroth’s slumbering [world-soul]"
I can only speak about what is evident which is that without life the dream is empty.

That was the whole point of what I said. Its vulnerable to corruption.

No they weren’t but they use the dream to influence growth by altering the dream. If their influence is removed so too will that life.

Yogg-Saron had used the world tree to open the way for the Old Gods to access the Emerald Dream. The Old Gods spread their corruption into the Dream through the door that Yogg-Saron had opened.[7] While Yogg-Saron opened the Emerald Dream to its brethren, it was apparently N’Zoth who was most active in corrupting it.

Right… twisted, as in corrupted, by an Old God. First turned into a Satyr and then turned into the Nightmare Lord. Perhaps poor use of the word “twisted” on my part?

Do you think Horde players should suffer the consequences of the writing? I am truly curious, because a lot of people think we should.

Yes I do. Not just horde though, I believe all player should suffer consequences of the world around them. Its been status quo since 2004. The writing, like it or not, is the heartbeat of the world.
