Now that the Horde is lead by an oligarchic council, the Horde can have our High Bootlicker; I mean King, Anduin in their council. He can sacrifice himself to save the world from N’zoth and be brought back as a lightforged forsaken, perfect to lead the reformed forsaken of the Horde.
I will have to get rid of Bane and the other bootlickers first
We have enough Alliance shills pretending to be Horde. How about you keep Anduin and take Baine as a bonus.
I’d be willing to trade.
No deal. How about you keep Baine, take Anduin, and we will throw in letting you kill Malfurion?
I would rather reroll Alliance than follow that pathetic excuse of a boy.
We won’t take Baine nor Anduin
I can sort of forgive Lorthemar or Thalyssra
but you can take them for good measures.
No deal; I don’t care about Malfurion. How about you take Baine, keep Anduin, and we’ll let Tyrande murderize TB?
Malfurion is annoying.
Let him die
And keep Tyrande.
She turning evil is a much needed change the alliance needs
…SOLD!
No deal; How about we take Baine, you kill Anduin and Malfurion, and Tyrande gets to kill Sylvanas?
So true. Everyone asking for cross faction play is alliance main
Horde main, wants cross faction something.
Oh you’re from thrall that explains it…
Ha! At this point, Tyrande has nothing on Sylvanas
I didn’t realize all DK’s from Thrall were so clever and good looking.
Anduin is the High King of the Alliance, which is basically general of the faction’s army. That’s all.
The Kingdom of Khaz Modan is politically ruled by the Council of Three Hammers. Anduin has no say what goes on in Dwarvish land only that it is the concern of the Alliance. One could argue that Anduin could… argue, to become a dictator. Ok. Let’s not speculate and elaborate on “what if’s” because this is a discussion of “what is”. I’d love to see a new thread made where we can elaborate on that topic but for this one, it’s good to note that Anduin is not a monarch to the Alliance.
The Alliance is not a political state. It is a Military Confederacy, whereby each individual state loosely and utterly governs itself wholly politically.
The Exodar’s laws and social policy are not affected by Stormwind or Anduin. They only unite for the purpose of war and obviously trade with eachother.
The Alliance is essentially like NATO. Whereby each member state is it’s own government but they cooperate and have terms for membership. Obviously they trade as well so you could also argue that there is UN of sorts that the Alliance also functions as.
The Horde on the other hand is different as well. The Warchief practiced much much more power and don’t conflate that with the Alliance High King. The title is misleading. Anduin is a king though, of Stormwind. The High King position is just commander in chief of the “NATO” that is the Alliance military.
The Horde demands a pledge of loyalty to the Horde to join and to become subservient to the Warchief while the Alliance sort of just come to terms and swear their forces to the Alliance.
If this was true, then there is no reason why Anduin should be High King. He’s incompetent. He only got the position it seems because his daddy held it prior.
This is true. I mean call it what it is, stupidity. The High King of the Alliance and the King of Stormwind are 2 separate titles and they can exist separately on 2 individuals technically.
Someone could become High King of the Alliance whilst there is a separate monarch for Stormwind. The Alliance since the fall of Lordaeron has always given leadership of the Alliance forces to the King of Stormwind just because of tradition so far basically. The Alliance for the most part doesn’t seem to require a power structure to get things done like you’d think. Not until BFA.
Tyrande defied Anduin to take her forces and fight in Darkshore. I couldn’t imagine in the Alliance if the High King would punish the leader of the Night Elves. It shows that it’s true the Alliance is just a military confederation led by the High King of the Alliance.
The Alliance started off as being controlled by Lordaeron, not Stormwind. It’s symbology wasn’t always the Lion for example.
I guess this goes back to Lordaeron’s rule as the leading faction of the old Alliance when all the Human Kingdoms were still left untouched pre-Dark Portal. The Alliance of human kingdoms would have a ruling kingdom and that king be crowned High King of it all and also practice lordship as King of Lordaeron. Now it’s Stormwind’s run.
Maybe it could change in the future. It wouldn’t be a retcon of the faction if they for example made Kul Tiras to be the ruling Kingdom of the Alliance and change the High King to the High Queen. They could get new symbology instead of the Lion and they would lead the army.
Obviously this would be such a massive change most would be upset. I DO NOT think this will happen in this game. Maybe in WoW 2 I could see major changes like this happening, but not in this run. The Alliance is here to stay and it seems Stormwind will always be the ruling kingdom of it.
I haven’t seen the rest of the thread yet, but this sounds like a darn good offer to me!
