Hopes for Midnight Ret - Reverse the brainless paladin! (FIXED! <3)

I didnt insult you. Its the entire point of this thread that ret is a mess but you decide to go against it because you like the braindead gameplay. Just accept that and move on if you have nothing to add to this thread about changing ret then why are you here responding.

You can’t make this ….. up.

Apparently, using euphemisms doesn’t count as an insult because they aren’t the word they are replacing.

Yeah, wild gaslighting attempt.

Roundabout way to call someone a simpleton or a simp even.

Infers someone can’t think and needs constant guidance, basically calling someone stupid.

Veiled insults are still insults.

It’s like those Naruto obsessed kids who started to call their parents or teachers “baka”, trying to mask the insult in a different language doesn’t make it any less an insult.

Week 1 of beta and no changes have been applied to ret

I doubt it will see much if any, it’s in a pretty good spot from the get go.
The core gameplay remains similar to what it was in DF/TWW and it was tremendously popular.

There’s some weird talent placement though.

Agreed, Ben.

In theory, we seem to be in a decent spot as you’ve stated going into Midnight. The rework we received previously in DF was an absolute success and cemented ret as one of the most popular and played spec, period. So I highly doubt Blizzard will fundamentally change us in any substantial way.

Yeah (I’m looking at you, Empyrean Legacy).

At this point, it’s probably just a tuning thing now. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if they slightly altered a talent here and there. But as you’ve stated in the past, I don’t really see anything truly offensive to us; nothing that would bring out the pitchforks and torches.

EDIT: WTF???

According to new patch notes…

Retribution

  • All damage dealt reduced by 11%.

WTF???

They are removing some aura buff to better assess where all the DPS stand with the changes.

I understand that, but 11%?

11%???

I’d say that’s more than just a so-called “generic decrease”.

I mean, damn.

That’s the sum of the aura buff we got.

I’m pretty sure if we were to dig in the previous patches that’s what the overall number would be.

They are putting it all to 0%, some specs were aura nerfed.

Yeah but we got those aura buffs because they were desperately needed and we STILL wasn’t meta in any sense of the word (well, maybe PvP, but…)

No one else got his THAT hard. Not even DK’s.

There’s a stat squish, there are new effects, the damage of spenders is magnitudes higher than what we currently have.

Those aura buff mean nothing, they were put in place for what Ret was in TWW but the tuning of Midnight is not the one from TWW.

Putting everyone at 0% makes them reassess and tweak baseline kit for tuning for release instead of applying aura buff that might not address the underlying issue.

And therein lies the question.

I don’t think anyone else was hit with an 11% overall damage reduction. I’ll admit I don’t follow most classes but was everyone “put at 0%”?

You tell me….

I’ll point you toward the note again.

i mean every spec auras get set to 0 every expansion. eventually in the beta c ycle

guardian druid has about 900% aura damage modifier

We’ll see.

They do aura buffs and nerfs during an expansion (when most of the devs are busy doing something else) to limit the chances of an unforeseen interaction causing a given spec to shoot up or down the charts. Ret appears to have had the largest aura buff- likely put in to compensate for the change to Divine Hammer.

In theory, by setting them all to zero the devs can go in and actually allocate the damage where they want it in a spec. Perhaps they want more damage from a hero or apex talent, or maybe they want to get more damage from spenders or a capstone.

If done properly this is good for the game. An aura buff or nerf doesn’t change anything about a spec except where it falls on the dps chart. Removing all the aura buffs and nerfs will allow the devs to actually go under the hood and fix specs to make them feel and play better.

how about reverse the bs 11% nerf, while all ranged hunters and frost dk is allowed to run rampant

the problem is that ranged hunters, frost dks, sin rogues, are allowed to do have top tier dos in all scenarios— thats a huge issue for me

What? can we even tell the damage anyone can do?
Detail doesn’t work on the beta and their tool isn’t in yet right?
Beside, there’s a butt load of bugs?

We’re literally 2 days into the beta and you’re speaking about it as if we’ve been 2 month into the new expac on live.

Nobody knows where anyone is at…

Take a chill pill.

You realize that this is not for Live right?
It’s on the beta…

Is it time already for the “new expac trolls” to return? Feels a bit early.

of course i do— not sure why ret gets nerfed right off the bat when no one esle does
