I hope DF gives monk a good useable talent tree with multiple builds, but maybe I’m too optimistic. The talent trees they released for 5 classes so far look more aligned with player choice.

What’s this supposed to mean? The whole point of talent trees is allowing you to choose your builds.
The best we can do is Blackout Kick in the middle of the tree.
I’m like 90% sure the monk talents are going to be a bad, illogical afterthought for the devs
My theory is they make bad talents to give themselves less work to balance the classes, because they know 99% of people will always take the one talent.
I’m looking at the priest tree, instead of choosing talents based on #targets or utility the class tree has options for disc that were holy only and same for shadow. It has opened up more choice previously locked out.
Sounds to me that other talent trees are well designed and we’re going to be put in the gutter because blizzard has failed on WW Design for 3 expacs ![]()
The priest/disc tree has a lot of great options and I’m debating sticking with my priest, but I need to see the monk tree first to decide.
I hope we don’t have to wait too long. I’d like to play season 4 with whater I choose to main in DF.
I really hope Last Keg is made into a talent. 2 charges of keg smash is like spiritually life changing, I can’t go back.
Going by other trees, we’ll have 10-12 abilities that’s in our basic kit now moved to talents. Tier 1 and 2 for ww will be just filling our spellbook back up with the same rotational abilities we have now and tier 3 will be some neat interactions yet not enough talent points to get too crazy and we will be pigeonholed to certain ones when wanting to do aoe or single target.
The only cool variety we may possibly get is how they merge the base kit of off specs into our generic tree to potentially accidentally allow more fistweaving or tankiness.
I’m hoping they can make a full on fistweaving and mistweaving builds.
All that I want is for Monk to get a double jump talent in their general tree. Literally the only win Monk needs right now.

Other healers getting interrupt back monk should too. No reason it shouldnt and it had an interrupt before.

I personally want the double jump because of Wuxia influence; Monk now seems to have minimal gravity manipulation (FSK, WDP, and Zen Flight). It sucks to watch DH go higher than Monk, even though Monk should be able to do it.

I am very worried about the monk class talent tree and also the MW one. Seeing that most of the classes have datamined spells and for monks only brew. I feel like they are not even close to finish our tree. I do know that we don’t have a class designer ATM. I just feel like MW monk really need some love. We have been underdogs in M+ for many years. Evoker got many similar spells to our old ones so I guess my hopes to get back Mist walk is over. People always say that yeah but monks are the least played class in game. People play meta specs ofc. Many MW rerolled because they didn’t want to struggle anymore getting invited to groups. I only push keys but I can tell you guys takes me hours to get an invite to a dungeon.
