Let’s not have a classic repeat of cheaters profiting from acc sharing!
/hs show. If that person’s honor pts still hasn’t updated from yesterday and you see them online tomorrow, especially during the afternoon with the same amount of pts.
They never logged off! The mod will take longer to update if the player is always online. Report them
People do go no life, compete solo and don’t cheat at all. Though it might be hard for weaker players to understand that other people are stronger and more capable than they are.
Blizz has banned people for honor trading. Being at the top puts a beacon over your head to be scrutinized. If your on any decent server people know the top players personally and there is drama/reporting if word gets out they cheated.
Yeah so people do cheat but plenty of people are putting the effort to do it legitimately, don’t devalue their effort by assuming they cheated to do it. People do get banned if their cheating is found out.
Whats funny is all the people who thinks its impossible to achieve it without cheating, na your just a weak player making excuses.
It updates through chat logs, upon death, as well as a constant inspect function. This is why chat in Classic has lag occasionally and why you have to try and inspect people 5 times to get the UI to render.
Honor Spy inspects every player within range, and syncs the local cache of data between them. Which certainly doesn’t help during an Ony buff lol.
Upon death, Honor Spy attempts a broadcast to all other users within range.
Finally, Honor Spy syncs data through Raid, Guild, and BG chat.
You constantly transmit and sync data; however, you could theoretically take awhile to sync a particular player, which could result in a delayed update for said player. For instance, one of my toons is in a dead guild on a dead server, I frequently go the entire week with less than 100 people in the pool, usually only reaching around 1000 people near Tuesday.
I remember doing something like honor trading on a MUD long ago. And funny thing was it had like 20 people on at a time, and whenever a player killed another player a MUD-wide announcement went out. When you got killed, you lost a level and 2/3 of the xp you had onhand. But when you killed a player, you got pkpoints you could use to train up your class skills and talents.
Friend and I spent an afternoon killing each other on level 1 and maxxing out our class skills. Other players on the mud thought it was WW3 happening. The next day, Admin was reviewing pk logs and outright deleted me and my friend. When I rolled a new character, he read my ip and messaged me that he’d block my ip if my friend and I did that crap again. They also capped pk points people could earn in a single day and some other things.
Another time the MUD went into a testmode for a month where nothing mattered and everything was going to be reset at the end of the month. So everyone gave me their stuff and I built myself a palace. Then Admins decided not to reset the game afterall and the players rioted in my palace.
