How can people still be complaining about the honor farm for this or that item?
Do you wanna play the game? No? Don’t do it then.
Very simple.
Also imagine complaining about getting crates with stuff in it while the other faction is not getting anything.
“…and, of course, what chance do you have in Arena, when your glove (as an example) has something like 16 resilience…and the opposing team (in S2 or better) has 36. Never mind the increased stats.”
Why would they not have an advantage over the other team?
They’ve put the time in, they deserve it.
This warrior is my third character joining the arena pool (started second week december) and I have pretty much caught up with the gear except 2-3 pieces.
And that was BEFORE the honor change.
Alliance hasn’t had a 50/50 win rate since week 4-ish of Classic (Vanilla).
I loathe WSG and EoTS. I’d have to run 16 of them, since I have 16 AV tokens. My only hope is WSG in TBCC has the time limit…I do not want 1hr+ WSG.
Well, in AV I can get about 300 honor (average) for 20 minutes (average). Assuming I start at 0 honor and want to get just once piece of S1. That’s 12hrs of constant AV-ing.
Tell me of a raid that takes 12hrs to get even once piece of gear? ((That would be ~6 weeks of raiding assuming your did 2hrs for a single raid, each week. Three weeks if you’re in a guild that does all the ‘current content’ raids each week; so Hyjal and BT.))
Season 2 and Season 3 both have about the same amount of Resilience. This was done to increase the TTK rate after people still ‘blew up’ in full Season 1 gear.
I was also not stating that Arena Gear should be handed out. I was pointing out, for those that would say “go do Arena, it’s faster”, that having 1/3 the Resilience isn’t going to make Arena ‘fun’ either.
I mean, of the 552 total BGs (spanning Classic and TBCC)…Alliance has won 151. I’d say the Horde are getting quite a lot.
“You don’t want to have fun the same way I do. So you should leave.” …Nevermind, that I could just as easily say the same to you.
I remind you that my entire complaint revolves around needing to put forth a level of effort that doesn’t align with the scale of reward.
Can’t always count on AV being the Bonus BG. So I don’t make that assumption. Obviously wins and Bonus Weekends are going to decrease the time.
Uh…you even quoted the part where I say “even once piece of gear”. Then reply with “fully geared”.
We had a Dark Portal Pass with an instant 58 boost back in 2007? Blizzard already pulled over the “nochange” bus long ago.
Also, for context. I’m saying to reduce the Honor requirements in half. Which would still necessitate about 10hrs of running AV (excluding wins and Bonus Weekend). Just to get a single piece of gear (on average).
They’ve already reduced the cost of the PvP gear twice.
You can : reach level 70 → buy the blue PvP set from vendor → get a ring from Terrokar spirit shard → get around 2100 honor in less than 1hour per day
S1 not costing marks let you get extra honor from the repeatable quest.
At some point you just want “free gear”. Try a bit and you’ll see that (especially with AV weekend) that you don’t need 10h/piece anymore.
This is why so many of us were against it.
“The pandora box is open they can just make more & more change, right ?”
I’m specifically looking to get the SP Mace, which is only available from S1 ‘Tier’.
((I have no clue why there wasn’t a ‘rare’ SP Mace. Seems like a huge oversight. Since it screws over Holy Paladins. If they wanted to PVP.))
I also like that you comment about getting “free gear”. Yet, I only said to cut the cost in half (so no S1 over 10k honor). Which would still require several hours of grinding, if you hand no banked honor.
Also. Why does it bother ‘you people’ so much if someone else gets something easier?
Do I get upset seeming people gear up via GDKPs? No.
Do I get upset that I had to grind out Knight-Champion and now everyone can just go buy Grand Marshal gear? No.
Do I get upset that people are using boosting services to get to 70 in a matter of hours? No.
Someone else’s playstyle and/or Skips have no bearing on how I enjoy my time in the game; it’s neither invalidated nor diminished by it.
And…really. Are you really going to be upset that someone is asking for an somewhat easier path to Karazhan-tier PVP Gear?
“Do I get upset seeming people gear up via GDKPs? No.
Do I get upset that I had to grind out Knight-Champion and now everyone can just go buy Grand Marshal gear? No.
Do I get upset that people are using boosting services to get to 70 in a matter of hours? No.”
I don’t like that **** either. #nochanges
I just don’t like people complaining while it literally takes NO time to get guaranteed loot you want instead of hoping to get loot in a raid.
There needs to be a limit to giving out loot!
Including Great Honor turn ins and all the FREE honor in Terokkar/Nagrand/Hellfire, it barely takes 5-6 hours for around 7-8k honor now.
Also I’ve done High Warlord on Whitemane, which you know is one of the highest populated servers around.
With the “mob” trying to control the pvp back then before tbc (only bracket 1 slot if boosting bull****).
I went against that and started my own group.
For some stuff in the game there’s some effort needed.
They’ve already released the pve content yet again nerfed.
Now the “nerf” to grinding pvp gear.
I just don’t like rewarding people that don’t put ANY effort in.
That doesn’t necessarily mean, that you are one of those people.
BUT you can’t really be serious by saying this is still too hard to do.
“I mean, of the 552 total BGs (spanning Classic and TBCC)…Alliance has won 151. I’d say the Horde are getting quite a lot.”
Horde does not get crates.
This was made to give alliance another motivation to keep playing bgs, because they’ve pretty much got everything the first week of tbc with running premades (cross realm even).
I have to add, that paladins have plenty of options for their sp set.
Lower City exalted, Thrallmar/whatever the alliance faction is called there has a sword at exalted.
Sword in Gruul, Sword in SSC.
And again, this is season 3!
You had plenty of time to get any of those options + get like 200-400 arena points per week saved up by the end of each season to get the previous weapon/shoulders without any rating requirements.
Yeah. They should put T6 in the cash shop and we should be fine because i guess “it won’t affect me”.
Especially here, in PvP. The others players gear does affect me.
It depend from where come the golds. We know that most of the golds come from goldseller. So yeah, i’m upset about it.
Why aren’t they letting cheating/hacking/exploit rampant in PvE then ? Because it’s a MMORPG what the others do/get does affect you or you investement indirectly/directly.
From the guild chatter. Boosting was a thing back in 2007. It just wasn’t as ‘scaled up’.
Well, 9min AV for 300 honor…need ~12k (now; shoulders…screw you Laj!). So…6hrs. to get a single piece of loot.
…again. Karazhan-tier loot.
It should be ‘current season’; Arena Points, ‘previous season’; Honor Points at 50% of the Arena to Honor conversion formula, ‘previous-previous season’; Honor Points at 50% of ‘previous season’. No marks used for any.
I thought you might say something like this. So.
What is your opinion on those who will take their lvl 80s into places like Molten Core and solo it faster than a 40-man cleared it ‘back in the day’?
((I’m thinking you won’t care because the content is no longer relevant even in the rearview mirror. Which is exactly how I feel about S1, and later S2 when S4 comes out.))
Not Exalted with any faction of TBC, in fact, I’ve just gotten the Heroic unlock for HFC, CR, CoT, and TK. I’m working on Lower City, but a bit distracted trying to get Dungeon Set 3; I’m crazy and like to tank.
As for the weapon. Blade of the Archmage was just barely an upgrade to my Mana Wrath. Plus the Resilience on the Gavel will help to offset any Defense Rating I make lack. ((Though, my own WA does say I’m 100% uncrittable as Ret with the Tank-ish gear on.))
Gruul? GDKP. Broke AF.
SSC? Not attuned. Also, GDKP. See afore mentioned ‘broke af’.
Arena? Did I not just mention I dislike PVP? So why would I want to get into an Arena Team. I also, largely, play solo.
I don’t just show up on a forum and complain for no reason. I look at my situation, and say, “how could this be improved without adversely affecting others”.
I realize you’re going for the extreme “slippery slope”-route. But. Realistically. Would that actually affect you? Would it be any different than someone doing a GDKP run and dumping thousands of gold to scoop up most of their T6 tokens in one run?
Probably right, but I wasn’t including the source of the gold. I’m talking about the act.
I suppose one could argue that ‘cheating’ is a form of playstyle. #illallowit
But if they aren’t directly impacting me (as in using cheats to harass me). Then I don’t really care.
Not true. You have to get one of each mark. It will take you more time, with ether faction, to farm one of each mark rather than using extra marks for potions. A stack of potions is now 500 honor. I’ve used 5+ pots in one bg.
In life poor people get welfare; in wow, the causal (i.e. people with careers) get the welfare. The opposing side to each is outraged. Economics is interesting.
