Hello everyone!
I have a question regarding the honor system. I am currently Rank 13 and from what I read I need 1,256,250 honor to reach Rank 14.
Last week I gained over 260k honor, but the bar remains at the 3% it was at last week.
The Ranker addon says that the cap is 418k per week, my question is…
Unless I reach this amount, is there any point in getting the cap?
Thx for any help.

Nope, no point in getting any honor below the 418k. That number is a threshold, not a cap

There are set thresholds you can increase per week. If you don’t meet these cutoffs you don’t gain anything.
The “Ranker” addon tells you what they are.
You probably didn’t get enough honor to meet the next cut off for that week.
For R13 there is only 1 unfortunately. It is 418750 honor. If you don’t meet this honor you will not progress at all.
If it is your 1st week of R13 you need 500k or you will need an extra week.
That is only true if you are 12 going to 13. If you are 12 and between 58 and 99 and get 500k you go to 13 32-34% which saves you the first week of 13. But since OP is already 13 they need to do 3 weeks of 418750.
Unless that was a typo meant to be 34%. Which is possible because it would be very hard to be at 3%. As you get all or nothing chunks of 1700 cp = 34%
418.75k is actually the cap. It it both the cap and the minimum required to progress from r13 to r14.

The cap is 500k every week. Cap and thresholds are different
Thats not true. The “cap” is just the highest threshold for the current rank. And 500K is only the highest threshold for ranks 10, 11 and 12. Once you are 13 it is 418750.
You can only get 500k honor maximum every week. That is the cap.

Here as an article explaining it, and heres a helpful quote
" On the weekly reset, your accumulated Honor Points are used to calculate your rating update. The maximum amount of Honor a player can gain within one week is 500,000 Honor ."
- Cap
an upper limit imposed on spending or other activities.
“the law would not put a cap on retail prices”
You are understanding that wrong, or trolling, or both.
500k is effectively a “cap” because it is the highest number that matters in the current honor system. You can get something like 2.5 million. 500k is the highest threshold, and is only applicable when you are ranks 10, 11 and 12.
No you can’t, 500k is the limit to how much honor you can receive per week
You can literally get 2 million if you want. But the effect on your current rank never changes over 500k and at r13 it never changes over 418.75k.
The cap in this instance does not mean the most you can possibly get. It means what you need to get to increase your rank by the most.
So as I said, starting at r13 418.75k is both the cap and the minimum required to progress. You can get 500k or 2 million at rank 13 but it won’t get you to rank 14 any faster than getting 418.75k will.

You being Rank 13 need 419k per week for 2 - 3 weeks depending to gain any progression.
If you are 0-33% R13 you need 3 weeks.
If you are 34-99% R13 you need 2 weeks.
You can blow past the cap gaining as much honor as you like, but only 500K counts toward your progression. This is what Al is saying; I can confirm this is true. Depending on your cap maximum per the rank.

Love me some Vanilla but man the ranking system is a terrible design.
Don’t get enough you get nothing. Get too much the extra does not count. Get an addon just to manage it…yikes

Once again, you cannot obtain more than 500k honor in any given week, as honor points are no longer awarded after 500k. That is why its called a cap.
I mean I know you are trolling at this point so I should not respond, but, they are awarded. I have screen shots of having more than 500k honor. Contribution points (CP) do have a cap, but that is not the same thing honor.
Go ahead and share them. Until then i’ll continue to trust the wowhead article I linked you earlier as well as actually hitting 500k honor before.

" On the weekly reset, your accumulated Honor Points are used to calculate your rating update. The maximum amount of Honor a player can gain within one week is 500,000 Honor ."
I can’t wait for a screenshot of prechange honor system as evidence though
You can obtain 5 million and it will be on your honor card if you have the time and a full premade, but your “Cap” is not what you think it is. The honor cap is simply the maximum possible points that can be counted toward your present weeks progression.
Example at Week 1 your cap is like 33,750 honor max, you can farm 3 million if you like but only 35K will be counted toward progression; your honor card will show 3 million if you farmed that much but only 33,750 honor will be used as progression.
Assuming you progress at maximum possible useable honor per week, the weekly caps are.
Week 1 = 33,750
Week 2 = 110,000
Week 3 = 265,250
Week 4 = 418,750
Week 5 = 500,000
Week 6 = 500,000
Week 7 = 418,750
Week 8 = 418,750
Hope you now see how the cap work, its not a hard value as you describe in your posts, but a maximum useable value per the rank you are presently.

This is incorrect, the cap is 500k and you just listed threshholds.
Two caps in the new honor system, honor cap and rank cap
There a cap on how many ranks you can increase per week, and a cap on how much honor you can farm that is counted.
Once again reading the wowhead article about the new system would clear this up for you guys
Contribution points do not have a cap, there is only a cap on how many ranks you can go up in 1 week(3) and honor(500k).
