Hasn’t seen a change since what, end of Legion? And everybody who played after legion have been penalized viciously, while those with good prestige levels which were easily acquirable then were boosted so high it doesn’t even matter.
I’ve played PvP after ending legion with Honor level 40? Playing mostly arenas, in BFA Season 4 enough to get 2 characters to 1800 in 2s as well as a Vicious mount + a saddle, played SL Season 1 again to get 1800 and a vicious mount, played a little in SL S2 and S3, played in DF Season 1 to get 1800s on 2 characters, played DF Season 2 or 3 to get 1800s on 6 characters as well as getting the vicious mount, and played TWW Season 1 and 2 to get multiple 1800s in each, and just today getting 1800s on another character I hit honor level 88.
I want 250 for a mount, I want 500 for a mount, why should this take me years and years of constant BG queuing ;-;
Because that is the way the system is designed. I did it, had a lot of fun and it’s fine. Otherwise you don’t need the mounts. Personally i want to see new mounts for Honor level 750 and 1000. It has been long enough and they should make it happen, perhaps even more recolors along the way would be nice too.
I maxed out my PvP in legion to where i couldnt get any more levels. I got the title and the midnight horse, and an Amazing PvP icon which was taken away from me once BFA hit. I remember at some point blizzard stated that it was going to be easier to gain pvp levels then it was in Legion when in reality it’s way harder.
I actually hate the grind now. : / Also After getting max level it didnt carry over very high for my account, when i did it on one toon and others at like half of that. I know people who pvped way less and got way more levels which is just dumb to think about.
So far the best way to grind out Honor is just spam Epic BGs. At least you get Honor for doing things in the BG instead of getting none for a stomp in Normals, Or Arenas. Ive done normal BGs and Arenas and gotten maybe 40-100 honor over all… Which is painful when you lose hard.
But hey that’s just my experiance with pvp at the moment. Some might have better luck. Ive also changed mains, so i could just suck really really badly now. XD
It’s badly designed. The bests known way that people did to farm it was stuff like the Zereth Mortis PvP weekly awarding like 500 for 5-10m per character avoiding PvP, otherwise it’s Comp Stomp with 250 for the weekly and 650 for the daily win, so realistically doing it every single day on 1 character would give you 4,800 Honor, for about what 5-10 minutes a BG so maybe an hour per character?
Even with 50 Characters, that’s only 27 Honor Levels, which would then take 18 weeks of 50 hours a week doing Battlegrounds against Bots that don’t play.
Now, apparently over 80% of people playing the game have 1-3 maxed characters on their accounts, so let’s say 3 at bests, you’re making 1.6 Honor Level a week, you’d need 15 years of doing Comp Stomp every day on all 3 characters.
Now say you multiply that by 5 because you do a lot of other BGs and stuff and perhaps you pass most of your week only doing BGs, we’re still at over a year of passing every week grinding BGs. That isn’t normal.
These mounts were designed to let Multiboxers and Exploiters get it, and no one else. After what… 7 years of the achievement being out? Only 1% of the wowhead profiles has it. And we know that not everybody uses Wowhead, and even less links their profiles and characters to wowhead. And most that does are collectors, so way less than 1% of the Wow pop has that achievement after 7 years, and a lot of those are from the Darkshore exploit back in BFA getting 500+ levels in an hour, and another big part are those that got free 500+ levels from Legion ending and switching honor system. Very VERY few people have done the grind because why bother? It’s way too long and time consuming.
The thing about rewarding PvP is how people who played legion or before in PvP got a HUGE boost that lowers their time needed to acquire it by literal years, while all of the others have to suck it up.
I’ve played PvP for years on and off and I’m not even 1/5th of the way there, that’s just absurd. Not even PvE has that kind of gap, there is no Dailies, Questlines, Grind that takes years other than RNG drops but that can take 1st tries to hundreds.
I for one think the game needs more of these long grinds. Yea its long, and to be honest I didnt pvp because I wanted the mount, I just pvp because it was my favorite thing since forever. One day I was like oh lvl 400 I got the crab pet, the other day without noticing I was 490…
I would have to check the dates but I feel that since the introduction of rss it sped up the process by a lot. Not sure but feels that way
And you PvP every day? Don’t you see that’s sort of an issue tho ?
Like yeah you get a mount you don’t even care about it cause it’s just by playing, people that want the mount cause it’s cool need to go through all you went through while not necessarily liking that type of gameplay as much, and while it’s easy to say “just don’t do it” mounts are really sought after by a few, like me
And for example on my warrior the only mount that really matches is the 250 one, I’ll never get it tho
It is MEANT to be a grind, that is the point. That is why it takes so long. That is why it is one of the hardest mounts in the game to get and not many people have it. Yes there are people that exploited their way to it, life goes on.
Either do the grind or don’t. It’s up to you. Yes i enjoyed getting it and i’m still doing bg’s because i enjoy playing them, the mount is designed for folks like me to be able to grind it out over time. If people don’t like it then it’s NOT FOR THEM.
Issue being, life doesn’t just go on when a big part of the small amount of players that got it exploited their ways to it.
Ofc I’m speaking out of my elbow, but most likely way more than half of the players who currently have it got it from the system changing during Legion, since it swapped from Prestige levels to honor at a ridiculous conversion rate, and was said to be " easier " to level, while it was much, MUCH easier to get prestige levels back then than it is to acquire honor levels today. And then another big part of the remaining ones got it exploited from BFA.
The system is simply badly designed, it is not my opinion it is a fact, in comparison, the fact that you enjoy it doesn’t make it less of a badly designed system, it just makes you not care about said system since you already are PvPing most of the time. For you it is a reward that you got over time, but for players who really really love the mount and really want it, it is an unacquirable one if playing passed the BFA Darkshore exploit, a relatively easy grind one if you exploited and a free one if you did a decent amount of PvP back in Legion.
Not true, everyone that got high Prestige Levels in Legion got a conversion to a ridiculous amount of honor levels, some people reaching well over 1000 from just the conversion alone
There is ofc some people spamming BGs, but most of the people that were passed 500 in the passed 7 years got it from the conversion, the more the years go by the less that majority become but not even that much because I’d be surprised if there’s even a 1000 people a year that manage to get even over 250 honor levels.
Before it was changed, you could just multi box with 5 accounts and chain farm first win of the day across all your max level toons. You could get to 500 fairly quickly doing it this way. There was a druid who would just use his hivemind mount with his 4 other druids and just afk epic bgs for months until he got 500 and never saw him again.
I agree. If we can have level squishes and stat squishes…the honor system needs to be crushed down and reset.
Anyone who didn’t exploit it hard in legion will NEVER catch up and get the 400 or 500 lvl pets without 12hrs pvp a day for like 2-3 years…that’s just a dumb system.
