Agreed- I like to check honor levels in blitz waiting room and there are a lot more ppl at 500+ honor level than I would have thought.

I remain in agreement that there should be rewards, even if crazy ppl are around doing god knows what
for something as useless as honor level? hard doubt on that one.

Not saying the OP did this, but didn’t people cheese the honor system when it was first introduced? Like folks getting hundreds of honor levels in kill trading raids or something.
They don’t do it on purpose to disincentivize honor botting
So no, it’s very unlikely we’ll see a honor 1000 mount
There was a HUGE bug for a couple weeks in legion where a world quest of murloks was infinitely spammable… this is what people on honor levels 2,000-6,000 abused, they got account suspensions at the time but kept the honor levels.
I got about 70 honor levels in shadowlands from weekly zereth mortis war mode quest with alts, the rest is just pure grind.
Maldiva streamed it at the time iirc.

I’m around 1050, over 500 of my Honor levels have come from just healing Shuffle since Dragonflight. You get a lot of Honor that way and I mean a LOT.
If they add any, I expect them to take the laziest rote possible. 750/1000, maybe even 1000, 2000.
They boosted, abused bfa darkshore bug and didnt get their levels removed.
If a no lifer like the mies is at 1100 queuing ALL DAY every day I see no point in adding something that will legit take YEARS to get. 500 is a high enough level for the last reward

Other achieve/mount grinds in this game are similarly unfathomable but purchaseable, and there are ways you can reward high honor lvls that aren’t mounts/pets/collectibles and won’t grind the completionism gears.
Off the top of my head: access to some kind of instanced hall in sw/org that’s just a cool looking place to sit and wait for queue pops, boa flasks that only work in bgs/arenas, fully upgraded heirlooms, etc
