So in 2023 on era realms Blizzard nerfed the honor you can get from 3 AV marks from 798 to 398 to combat people spamming AV over & over again to hit honor cap in short amounts of time. While I think this was a good idea, it clearly didn’t solve the issue as we still see 20-30 games of AV going on while the other battleground Warsong Gulch has 2-3 max lvl pug games maybe on peak hours.
I predict when Arathi Basin releases people will play it for a week out of hype, then continue if they really need the rep, but otherwise the same trend will follow through and AV will be the dominant leading BG by far, UNLESS something changes.
All I suggest is that either extra honor be given to mark turn ins to incentivize more gameplay in different battlegrounds, or honor be awarded to objectives in AB/WSG (such as returning/turning in flag, capturing stables, etc and it should be easy to add a check that prevents players from exploiting this) Anything that gets 99% of rankers out of AV without harming their honor gains & also incentivizing variety to ranking, I think everyone would be happy with that.

Agreed - or make AV less of a snooze fest, with reduced honor gains for doing braindead “objectives”, stronger NPCs, etc.
I understand people may also have some form of PTSD regarding premades in the other BGs, so maybe having a 5-man group cap like they used to, along with increased honor gains from either objectives or turn ins. Anything to make it such that the ratio of honor to effort be somewhat equal across the board.
Look, straight up ne ding AV is stupid, like negative IQ. No. The problem is AB is dominated by premades, and if you’re not in one, it’s bad.

That’s fair. Not really going to argue the quality of PVP across expansions as it’s out of scope, but I 100% agree that most often a pug will likely not get much out of facing a premade in WSG/AB, hence why a 5-man group cap could be a potential alternative to making those a little more attractive, in conjunction to increased honor gains ofc (or reduced AV gains).
I agree. But it’s not going to happen. Aggrend likes getting carried in premades. They’re not going away. He brought them back after people got cap in sod.
