Sylvanas is going to die at the end of the expansion. If you can’t see where this story is heading then you need to go back to DBZ.
We really shouldn’t care all that much about the lore in WoW (or any other fictional franchise), and I sometimes feel stupid or even guilty when I do so.
These are all imaginary characters dealing with imaginary crises in an imaginary world. There are far too many real people dealing with real crises in the real world who deserve our attention and emotional investment much, much more.
It’s like getting upset or angry when the little pigs got their houses blown down by the Big Bad Wolf when a real tornado just leveled a neighboring town, leaving real people homeless and destitute.

I love the lore in most SP games. But I’ve come to realize that in MMO’s the story is never really that good because it’s practically impossible to write a compelling story that makes sense, with ever-growing stakes, that applies to every player.
Even FF, praised for it’s lore, has a bad story.

Childhood game (warcraft 3) and 15 years of WoW. Sucks how terrible the game is now.
I’d at least like something a LITTLE better than “this lady did a big ol’ genocide, but now she is redeemed and is our friend!”. Is that so much to ask?
You’re probably too young but there were games called Warcraft I, II and III and it had the best stories and storytelling , ahead of its time and to continously watch these soy boy betas ruin that lore that we were all immersed in is why we care so much when they butcher it.
