I’ve been playing World of Warcraft since launch. I’ve been playing pretty hardcore since launch all things considered. I’ve taken some time off but never left over a year, and have always had a sub. I have since: graduated college, worked some odd jobs, fallen in love a few times and grew old… but I always looked forward to playing WoW in order to relax at the end of my day. Since Dragonflight I feel like the last bit of magic has been lost.
The defining characteristics of Warcraft are gone. The unique humor and art the very essence and soul of World of Warcraft isn’t there anymore. It’s been a slow decline in some ways, but Dragonflight is the first expansion which just doesn’t feel like WoW at all.
In terms of gameplay: the key race gets old and tiresome and toxic and who has time to get server first boss kills in raids these days? The rest of the is just the same monotonous thing they’ve been doing since the early 2000’s. Yes PVP too, PVP has always been a half-baked afterthought. Even when it was fun.
WoW just kinda sucks dude, there’s better things to do with your time these days.
edit: I’m playing again, the new zone is quite beauitful! lol
Also WoW only sucks if you play without friends. If I had no companions on my WoW journey I’d have quit ages ago. The people are what make the game fun.
You have done it, Axaron! With this, I’d like to award you the medal of congra-duation to you! Now that we’ve done this, we’re ready to move onto the next big phase of our life.
FF14.
I am sorry. Those break ups always suck. I hope that you find something better and have fun with whatever you do.
Yeah, OP. Its hard to find a nice fun crowd to play with, just find one or try. Some of the communities still work. Some guilds do too, it isn’t easy but really. Just find a nice friendly group of people. That fit you!
Yeah I don’t know. I really was enjoying the lore until Dragonflight. There was always at least one character I could latch onto. This expansion feels inconsequential, and no I cannot fully explain why. The “Warcraft” magic is when you think of thrall throwing hammers from a wolf, or Grom thrusting his axe into a dreadlord, Arthas putting a sword through his dad.
Not even that “badass” but at least interesting. At least Shadowlands let us revisit some legendary dead characters.
Dragonflight as an expansion is not interesting. It feels intentional in a way. Like an AI made it.
A big part of me still feels really strongly about WoW, I know some people say that is pathetic but I don’t care. I honestly just hope something good can come from how low things are right now. Even the most hardcore players who are always online are almost always offline now (I’m one of them). It’s just weird. I feel like the game doesn’t have to end this way. I hope not anyways.
I love how basically everything asmon says in this video has been the case with wow since like cata or mop. Dudes just gotten old and doesn’t like the game anymore. These things weren’t a problem back then but now all of the sudden they are? This community rightfully shat on blizzard through the past 2 expansions because they were just plain bad but now that they release and xpac thats good all of these people say “well i just don’t fundamentally like the game anymore”. If you don’t like dragonflight then unsub and stop playing because this game is not for you.
180 degrees out here.
Since DF started I finally feel like this game is getting back to its roots instead of trying to reinvent the wheel.
2 years in hell wasnt ‘magic’ for me. it was one annoyance after another.
the only real success was the art team and even they blew it bigly when the entire zone of ZM, which was as boring and bland as staring at a mud puddle.
DF has been a blast to play so far. And the new zone we just got is absolutely fantastic.
