I mean, what exactly happens if someone looks at your main and insults you? Do you melt IRL? I don’t get it.
Some folks just want privacy. To me it’s like how there’s some youtubers that don’t reveal their face.
Not me, I have trusted 3 and want to keep it.
Because toxic people will check your profile to gauge your worth in their eyes, and reply to your post accordingly.
Kinda reminds me of people that have to constantly check DPS meters in instances at level 15, then turn around and constantly insult everyone that isn’t matching them. People like that never take scaling into account, nor do they stop to wonder if a class has access to all of their key skills yet.
I’ve noticed that those posting on (lower-leveled) alts are usually the most argumentative individuals – and not even from a logical standpoint. They tend to be the most toxic and vitriolic of all the forum-goers. Nothing they say can be tied back to their “main”, so their image remains intact while they’re able to belittle and degrade as much as they want.
Note: Not every lowbie-alt falls into this category… but it’s a trend I’ve picked up on.
They do it just to annoy you.
This is my main, now give me some gold
That’s kind of what got me noticing it. It’s always someone’s Classic toon, or a lvl10 or 50, and 75% of them time(at least when I take notice) they’re arguing, or being super disrespectful. Which isn’t to say I don’t have my moments on here, but if someone wants to hop on WoW and spam trade chat about me, or send me DM’s I really wouldn’t care. lol I don’t know, it just struck me as weird.
I post on the character that’s most relevant to the conversation.
Currently posting on Bait because she was the one that I was on when I got to work and haven’t had a reason to switch.
I can’t say annoy would be the word I would use to describe it, but if there’s a conspiracy to post on alts to generate a response of any kind from me I’ll go ahead and feel flattered.
Some people try and comment on content or subjects they aren’t skilled enough to have an opinion on, so they hide their mains to reduce the chances of instantly losing credibility.
More importantly, why is it that only half the communities’ profiles are updating? I’m not level 50 wtf
Faction change and server transfer, and gold you shall have.
Well, OP. Does it bother you that much that you can’t inspect me and find an excuse to trash me and act like a psycho antisocial elitist jerk?
I like the name this toon has. Sometime I’ll have a reason to switch. But they don’t make it easy. I have lots of characters and they appear totally randomly, so usually I give up and just pick one if I can’t immediately find the one I really want to post on.
I post on this toon exclusively be cause it has the trust level 3 privileges, that aren’t account wide. I wish they were.
Exhibit A.
Oh… I’m doing it wrong? I guess I’ll go make a level 10 to post on. Sorry!!
i’ll have u kno i farmed up me raiderio score so people’ll listen 2 me
People get picky if an opinion is expressed on an avatar that appears to be a main if the topic of discussion is content. On the flip side, I like to use my main to show how simple things can be as a casual, primarily roleplaying player.
So far my biggest achievements this season are hitting 1600 and downing 6/10 of the raid, I don’t think I would qualify as an elitist. lol
