Honest question, how many would quit if Blizzard announced a battle pass?

On today’s Diablo IV stream, they announced 3 battle pass tiers, a Free tier, a $10 premium tier and a $25 accelerated tier, 4 battle passes for 4 seasons per year

WoW is going to get one some day. Anyone thinking “no” are gullible.

They are already testing us now with the trading post… You don’t think they’ll cut progress unless you pay $15-$20 to unlock 3 months worth of trade post?

tie a 6 month bundle to 2 battle passes for $80-$90 as a bundle discount?

or tie a year sub to get 4 battle passes for the year and throw a bonus like 2 times trader tokens/special dragon riding mount skin?

wouldn’t be surprised that’s what they’re preparing to announce in 10.1.5 or 10.2

I would not quit. To be fair a sub is kind of like a battle pass anyway.

They wouldn’t let us buy a Battle Pass with money.

We’d have to combine 16 thingamajigs to create a thingamabob and once get 3 thingamabobs we can put them into a slot machine catalyst that has a chance to produce a greater thingamabob. Once we collect 12 greater thingamabobs we can purchase an ultimate thingamabob from a vendor after we reach renown 24 that unlocks the battle pass for your account.

Honestly, I’m not sure what a BattlePass is. But as long as basic gameplay isn’t gated behind an extra fee, I’ll still be playing. 50 cents a day is pretty cheap entertainment.

they can’t handle one tier, let alone 3 or more. I’d be done.

think what the trading post is but instead of tokens
we get mogs mounts or armor for each tier we finish

Depends on what is offered. Not just in the battle pass, but if they said you can play for free, but get less, that would entice more players to play. And if the battle pass contained player power, it would kill the game.

It’s entirely up to Blizzard how they handle this, a battle pass with cosmetics, mounts, pets, that’s fine. A battle pass that gave players power, that is pay to win and not fine.

It would depend how they do it. If they did it like Destiny’s battle pass I would uninstall and then replace my SSD, don‘t want any of that even touching my hardware.

A strictly cosmetic battle pass would be fine as long as the free version still has enough in it. I.E if the paid battle pass gave you higher detail transmog, like store transmog, I would quit

TP kinda sucks anyway, theres really nothing good on there, anything good on there is the FOMO mounts thats about it

renown IS a battlepass and probably just prototyping for the TRADING POST which is a battlepass-lite

I’m still undecided but a battle pass in the new diablo seems off putting…like they’re trying to mix Diablo Immortal into it which I don’t like

The naïve thing is thinking Blizzard isn’t getting as much money out of you as they think is possible already.

Why do you think crafting was so expensive in SL and is even more expensive in DF? Wow tokens.

Battle pass and no offline mode. It’s almost as if they’re trying to talk me out of ever playing D4. At this point, I might just wait until it’s on PS Plus for free.

I’m not paying double fees. If that is what this means… they have a hard enough time competing with just one subscription in all reality. With the competition out there nowdays. Game would probably hold up better if it went F2P but lots of people argue over this.

I’d keep playing especially if they added dinar tokens to buy pieces of loot by progressing through the game doing side stuff/your own things. It would give a more longer term, casual way to gear up okay.

We already have a garrison and a class hall… Ngl I wish we got some kind of new base to unlock that was a combination of the 2 to work on and every expansion more is added to it. That would be cool and I’d gladly pay for that. Allow race and faction theming cosmetics. Guards to decorate or hire etc.
