Our purchase of the new expansion and 15$ sub fee should give us access to a well designed, mostly bug free “fun” gaming experience.
Unfortunately the desire to make profit > The desire to make a good game.
Many things have actually happened in a very short span of time. Here is a “list” of things I find unappealing about the direction WoW is headed.
- Lots of bugs/unintended effects.
Everywhere small bugs… big bugs… it’s an infestation.
- Talents that are all over the place.
You’ve been hurting my brain with all the talent changes that have happened since the end of DF S4.
Stop it.
Measure twice cut once.
Calculate it correctly.
Get it way closer to “balanced” before rolling out not thought out changes that effect your players.
Suddenly the players have to scream at you how things should work and you’re “listening”? They’ve been screaming since beta and no changes were made from that feed back? Why are you “listening” now? Should you listen at all?
I believe expertise in this area has to come from developers who love and play the game. NOT spreadsheets and statistics, which is where things start to go awry.
If I led the team for class changes… it’d work similar to a few guild set ups I had in Vanilla. A Class Lead… for every class. Plays the character decent and helps others in the guild playing that class understand the best specs/rotation. They probably aren’t the “best” but they’re solid and a team player connecting with a small knowledgeable group about the mechanics of their class.
You’ve only complicated things for yourselves with Hero Talents and all the extra abilities. We don’t want them. In general, simple IS better when it comes to talents and the basic rotation. Unique utility is fun though. We like the holy trinity.
- Tuning mobs “down”, tuning them “up”, and scaling them/us wrong.
The new raids and the sheer amount of tuning is bad.
The scaling in LFR raids is awful.
My level 80 gear is no match for some level 70 guy who hasn’t even purchased the expansion… feels “powerful” alright.
The scaling is wrong, it has been wrong. You said it was “fixed” for dungeons, but it isn’t… it’s just broken for everything still.
- People losing guild bank items.
Have to say first off, I was not personally effected by this.
But if you read some of the comments in that pinned thread up top here… there are a decent amount of people who lost a significant amount of things with a simple “We’re sorry” from Blizz. I believe Blizzard should verify to the best of their ability people who were obviously effected by this and offer some type of “fair” compensation. The people complaining are good life long players who feel betrayed because they were.
- Blizzard dropping stealth changes on the most expensive crafting reagent.
Profaned Tinder Box change in “value” in the middle of the night… Just put me on edge and thinking oh wow… they can just drop it like that.
It was a good change, but they way in which it was done… was unexpected and “not on my 2024 bingo card” to say the least. Barely a peep was said about it too, how odd.
- Blizzard dropping debuffs on people, when they did nothing wrong.
Just like anonymous vote kicks for dungeons was a bad idea and deserter debuffs for LFR players who backfill is stupid… or even the decision to bestow a deserter debuff for kicked individuals. Your dungeon “fixes” have negative parallels to other forms of content. I’m really not sure if you’ve noticed or it is entirely intentional. Things are not working smoothly when it comes to queued content and your application of debuffs to characters… needlessly. It’s a bad look.
- Blizzard propping up their store sales and causing a “mad rush” for token purchases.
I think store purchases are clearly effecting the flow of token purchases which is troublesome because of its apparent direct link to people trying to purchase tokens at the AH in game. This system doesn’t really benefit the player at all though. Blizz just making more $ and putting minimal effort into the game. Why should they bother to fix glaring issues when we’re just tossing money at them left and right for shop items? Even I am guilty of purchasing tokens on the AH and perpetuating… things.
- Intentional gating of progress on everything from professions to celebration tokens.
Playing this game “live” has been frustrating from talent updates, to enchanting changes, to reagent and economy manipulations all on top of simple mount disconnects from last expansion still existing… and a celebration event where we struggle to get tokens when they should be dropping off of all content freely… We’ve been gated needlessly and it’s not subtle.
- Bad decisions, no accountability
Besides the things I’ve already mentioned,
We don’t want so many changes you’ve made recently and they have directly effected my gameplay/desire to play.
Little things that didn’t need to be touched.
I’m sure people have a small list they can “go to” that has demoralized them into not playing a certain spec or game play mode they don’t touch because of “reasons”.
I personally find changes like removing essence font from monks and some of the druid changes recently down right puzzling… The are trying to manipulate the way we play which has actually been mentioned in their developers notes… Instead of giving us the tools to play well multiple ways. Maybe they fear they can’t handle the balancing… but they need to/should simplify it all for everyone involved anyways when it comes to talents.
Who in their right mind decided to buff the health of time walking mobs? No seriously that’s the exact opposite of “fun”.
More swirlies to dodge on the floor isn’t “challenging” either… it’s just annoying as all get out for anyone who has an ability with a cast time.
This expansion was not ready for release and Blizz has been playing catch up and putting out fires ever since. AH problems early on. Server down time in the middle of the evening multiple nights on end. Maintenance days where the forums become flooded with posts they later delete. We see it, we’re experiencing your services.
TLDR: So you’ve scrolled this far, I just want them to fix things in the game and internally.
Expect to get trolled on something, that’s what happens here. But this is my feedback.
