Honest Feedback

Our purchase of the new expansion and 15$ sub fee should give us access to a well designed, mostly bug free “fun” gaming experience.

Unfortunately the desire to make profit > The desire to make a good game.

Many things have actually happened in a very short span of time. Here is a “list” of things I find unappealing about the direction WoW is headed.

  • Lots of bugs/unintended effects.

Everywhere small bugs… big bugs… it’s an infestation.

  • Talents that are all over the place.

You’ve been hurting my brain with all the talent changes that have happened since the end of DF S4.

Stop it.
Measure twice cut once.
Calculate it correctly.
Get it way closer to “balanced” before rolling out not thought out changes that effect your players.

Suddenly the players have to scream at you how things should work and you’re “listening”? They’ve been screaming since beta and no changes were made from that feed back? Why are you “listening” now? Should you listen at all?

I believe expertise in this area has to come from developers who love and play the game. NOT spreadsheets and statistics, which is where things start to go awry.

If I led the team for class changes… it’d work similar to a few guild set ups I had in Vanilla. A Class Lead… for every class. Plays the character decent and helps others in the guild playing that class understand the best specs/rotation. They probably aren’t the “best” but they’re solid and a team player connecting with a small knowledgeable group about the mechanics of their class.

You’ve only complicated things for yourselves with Hero Talents and all the extra abilities. We don’t want them. In general, simple IS better when it comes to talents and the basic rotation. Unique utility is fun though. We like the holy trinity.

  • Tuning mobs “down”, tuning them “up”, and scaling them/us wrong.

The new raids and the sheer amount of tuning is bad.

The scaling in LFR raids is awful.
My level 80 gear is no match for some level 70 guy who hasn’t even purchased the expansion… feels “powerful” alright.

The scaling is wrong, it has been wrong. You said it was “fixed” for dungeons, but it isn’t… it’s just broken for everything still.

  • People losing guild bank items.

Have to say first off, I was not personally effected by this.

But if you read some of the comments in that pinned thread up top here… there are a decent amount of people who lost a significant amount of things with a simple “We’re sorry” from Blizz. I believe Blizzard should verify to the best of their ability people who were obviously effected by this and offer some type of “fair” compensation. The people complaining are good life long players who feel betrayed because they were.

  • Blizzard dropping stealth changes on the most expensive crafting reagent.

Profaned Tinder Box change in “value” in the middle of the night… Just put me on edge and thinking oh wow… they can just drop it like that.

It was a good change, but they way in which it was done… was unexpected and “not on my 2024 bingo card” to say the least. Barely a peep was said about it too, how odd.

  • Blizzard dropping debuffs on people, when they did nothing wrong.

Just like anonymous vote kicks for dungeons was a bad idea and deserter debuffs for LFR players who backfill is stupid… or even the decision to bestow a deserter debuff for kicked individuals. Your dungeon “fixes” have negative parallels to other forms of content. I’m really not sure if you’ve noticed or it is entirely intentional. Things are not working smoothly when it comes to queued content and your application of debuffs to characters… needlessly. It’s a bad look.

  • Blizzard propping up their store sales and causing a “mad rush” for token purchases.

I think store purchases are clearly effecting the flow of token purchases which is troublesome because of its apparent direct link to people trying to purchase tokens at the AH in game. This system doesn’t really benefit the player at all though. Blizz just making more $ and putting minimal effort into the game. Why should they bother to fix glaring issues when we’re just tossing money at them left and right for shop items? Even I am guilty of purchasing tokens on the AH and perpetuating… things.

  • Intentional gating of progress on everything from professions to celebration tokens.

Playing this game “live” has been frustrating from talent updates, to enchanting changes, to reagent and economy manipulations all on top of simple mount disconnects from last expansion still existing… and a celebration event where we struggle to get tokens when they should be dropping off of all content freely… We’ve been gated needlessly and it’s not subtle.

  • Bad decisions, no accountability

Besides the things I’ve already mentioned,

We don’t want so many changes you’ve made recently and they have directly effected my gameplay/desire to play.

Little things that didn’t need to be touched.
I’m sure people have a small list they can “go to” that has demoralized them into not playing a certain spec or game play mode they don’t touch because of “reasons”.

I personally find changes like removing essence font from monks and some of the druid changes recently down right puzzling… The are trying to manipulate the way we play which has actually been mentioned in their developers notes… Instead of giving us the tools to play well multiple ways. Maybe they fear they can’t handle the balancing… but they need to/should simplify it all for everyone involved anyways when it comes to talents.

Who in their right mind decided to buff the health of time walking mobs? No seriously that’s the exact opposite of “fun”.

More swirlies to dodge on the floor isn’t “challenging” either… it’s just annoying as all get out for anyone who has an ability with a cast time.

This expansion was not ready for release and Blizz has been playing catch up and putting out fires ever since. AH problems early on. Server down time in the middle of the evening multiple nights on end. Maintenance days where the forums become flooded with posts they later delete. We see it, we’re experiencing your services.

TLDR: So you’ve scrolled this far, I just want them to fix things in the game and internally.
Expect to get trolled on something, that’s what happens here. But this is my feedback.

You can always tell which companies have making money as a low priority.
They are the companies that go out of business.

There needs to be a balance, especially when we’re talking about a subscription.

People thought it was a lot to buy early access, but if Blizzard can just throw up a mount whenever and make just as much on the shop at any time with minimal effort. Where is their incentive to fix any of the “problems” we’re seeing?

A shop mount isn’t “content” and the “content” we’ve recieved thus far in this expansion is all over the place and poorly thought through.

Blizzard making money and “saying in business” is great, sure. But if your product is subpar and out of touch with with the player base and what they actually want/is fun. You’re going to see less money coming in too.

I agree. This morning, I went through a portal from Stormwind to Dornogal and was ported into the sea. I’m just floating there with three pandas getting fatigue. A funny occurrence, but the bugs are just getting out of hand.

The founder of costco literally almost fired the CEO of the company if raised the price of his hotdogs from 1.50
Costoco is also one of the best companies to work for with the best employee benefits.

You seem to not understand the old saying “If you build it, they will come.” If you make a good game, profit comes, if you try and make a game about bleeding players dry as much as possible, you will eventually be left with a dried out husk of a game.

You can blame the player base for always wanting instant gratification.

New expansions
New classes
New tiers
Faster faster faster

So blizzard gives the people what they want. Then when you see the end result of what you asked for, youre appalled and dont like it.

The player base should think twice and speak once before throwing ideas out there for “what the player base” wants

I dont think the players ever wanted blizzard to fire their QA staff.
They were able to give us new expansions, classes, and tiers in the past with out issues, its only now since about…post legion, its not been in their wheel house.

What are you talking about. The “death of WoW” litany has been going for 19 years. Players have been complaining and asking for unreasonable/unrealistic things as far back as Vanilla/TBC

I’m still waiting for my Hunter ability that makes me invincible and amplifies my damage by 2000% indefinitely.

The World of Warcraft shall perish, but in its doom it shall spawn a score of obvious copies. Chaos will be sewn from their passage. So sayeth the wise Alaundo.

People have been screaming for unreasonable things for 19 years sure, but that dose not magically invalidate the fact that people should be able to expect a given level of quality from blizzard that until recently has been pretty solid.

TWW Does not live up to blizzard quality, and it shows.

It was well thought out and at least you never said slop, which is apparently a new buzzword. Hopefully, now that tokens and mounts have been a financial success, they can hire back some of the folks who helped fix stuff in the first place.

Is it though?
Its way more content than a lot of previous xpacs had and its only season 1.

Posts like this are so dishonest. You completely ignore everything else and focus on the singular thing that upset you.
The bruto.

Ignore the raid. Tw vanilla. Cosmetics. Silly little mini games. Secrets questline. Etc.

Granted there are bug, they are however giving us a bunch of content and mid season patches. No 6 months to a year of literally nothing. But I guess that aspect goes whoosh.

Its the samw quality thats always been here. In fact, its considerably higher quality given the ease of access as compared to the past.

Bugs have always been around.
People complaining because the game isnt tailored exactly to them has always been around.
Maintenance days beyond whats scheduled has always been around.

“Lack of quality from Blizzard” is more attuned to burnout that any actual change from Blizzard

Absolutely not, and even suggesting this hot mess of an exp is on par with the rest of wow is at beast ignorant and at worst being willfully deceptive to say so.

This exp is the most buggy nightmare of a mess that has come out in the last 20 years from this company. Bugs have always been around, not to this extent, not to thing breaking that never should be breaking. Never has there been a point where i can regularly get DCed because i mounted up. Or Prof window completely bugging out and needing me to close it to get it to work, or auto crafting stopping after every craft. Just to name a few.

Maintenance is scheduled ahead of time of course but there has never, EVER been a time when we had this much, this long, constantly back to back, with constant extensions to them.
Or them implementing a patch that then reverts the changes they did from a previous patch because opes they messed it up.

I wish to god this was the steam forums so i can could clown award you, because you are just objectivly wrong. This exp is far below what we have gotten in the past.

You just listed off a bunch of subjective points and labeled them “objective” while being condescending. I think we all know who would get the clown award here…

Its not subjective that this is the most maintenance extensions and back to back maintenance they had had to do on the game in its history.

Its not subjective there are more bugs that people are dealing with then they have before

Its not subjective that blizzard canned their QA team and its horribly showing.

What were you saying? Oh yeah!

Uhh can we recall DH Fel Rush right into DC that was around for 2 xpacs? For example

Youre free to look up all prior maintenances over a course of an expansion and find out that its not as bas as youre making it out to be.

This is called tuning and done constantly.

So you ignore facts, make things up and claim them as “objective” and want to call me a clown? Lol alrighty then.

Like i said, sounds like you suffer from burn out. Perhaps cancel your sub and go play one of the many subpar Steam games that has “objectively better quality”

What company changes without their bottom line being hit?

As in, when will people start unsubscribing instead of moaning on the forums?

I routinely unsubscribe when the game isn’t doing it for me. If you never unsub, you’re telling blizz they’ll have to do worse than this to see your money go away.

you can do what ever song and dance you want to justify this hot garbage of a exp you want but it wont change what the reality is. Participation is down, bugs are out in the wild and worse then ever, the game is going into more maintenance extensions then ever.

You can dig your head into the sand all you want.

TWW Sucks, its a bad expunction, Blizzard lack of QA is showing.

The only good thing people can come up with for this expansion is devles and hallow fall, which devles and a single zone cant carry an exp.
