Any priests smarter than I am found a way to force homunculus to attack a target? I cannot figure it out for the life of me. I wish they were just pets.

You can’t directly control them. They’re just dumb. Even when you initially summon them they will sometimes attack a different target if it’s close enough. Generally they prefer to attack something right next to you, though at times they will sprint off to go aggro some random mob or kill a critter.
You have to get into melee range of a hostile mob and then they will start attacking. You might have to wand or auto attack for a few seconds, but usually just standing next to the tank is enough to get them to start attacking.
All the need to do is have the ability change after you cast it to “Attack”. So you summon them with your key bind and you can force them to attack another target with the same key bind.

*I love my hunter pets, but they aren’t the brightest stars in the sky.
