I’ve seen the recent unplayable lag posts from the past few days. I too am experiencing unplayable lag, but am confused because my world latency is ~50 but my home latency is in the hundreds to the thousands.
However, WoW is the only game I’m experiencing any noticeable lag in. Other online games playing from the same device, same drive, connected to the same internet are 100% fine, though if it’s my "home’ latency, I guess that implies there’s something I can do on my end to fix it?
What are some things I could try to help remedy the issue? Or even though it says my home latency is the issue, is it possible it’s just pre-patch / high server load wonkiness and will pass with time?
Addons … Even addons that you disable still load and cause issues.
Resetting your UI sometimes leaves code that some addons leave code in your game system.
If resetting in game option in battle.net does not help. I have read that changing your password helps with server side vars.
Ooh, this is something that I didn’t even consider! I’ve been gone for a year or so and have a ton of out of date addons. I disable them when it asks at login, but I didn’t know this may cause issues. I’ll have to try this out. Thank you for the advice!
So unfortunately, this didn’t work.
My latency (per the monitor in-game) has both world and home in the 30s, but sitting in Goldshire people are running in place and rubber banding every few seconds. Input lag on my own abilities is hit or miss. For example throwing up a blazing barrier or blinking takes a few seconds between key press and ability activation, but my skyriding mount actions take place immediately.
I deleted my addon folder, reset my game settings through the Battle.net settings in the launcher, even changed my password, but I can’t watch duels or even play the game myself. I’m not sure what else to try.
Never auto update and close Battle.net when starting game. Also do not start battle.net on start up computer.
At this point … Restart your computer.
Start wow with the PLAY button.
In wow …menu.
Find background and forground fps settings. Set to 8 and 60 for testing.
Un check box for target fps.
There are several other settings you could try, but … So hard to find the issue.
If your OS and minimum system with up-to-date drivers. Not using bad wireless, or a streaming ISP.
