I’m leveling my main for classic (priest was my main class as far as I remember)
I just wanted to ask u guys, what do you think about holy or discipline… Who do you think is better for WOTLK and why?
I personally found disc super fun on pvp, and holy big AOE healing with PoM, CoH and with the “group restrictions removed” => POH way to good to ignore…
But that’s me! I’m not even 80 yet, what do you think?
If you’re asking if Disc or Holy is better for leveling, I have to say neither. Level as Shadow, as leveling in a healing spec is ridiculously time consuming.
If you’re asking which one is better at 80, I’m going to say disc but I’m biased. I like preventing damage and reacting to it vs just throwing out big heals as holy. Disc feels more interactive to me. Also, Disc is tops in PVP.

Yes I’m referring at max lvl
I just can’t decide… BUT I love maintaining renew pom on CD, cof if big aoe heal needed and stacking serendipity with souge of light in case big aoe/single heal needed.
Disc. Isn’t more like a pvp in WOTLK? I remember being way to op and fun (I played ptotec/holy pally back then too)
But yeah keep up pw:s mitigates lots of mechanics
like they never deal damage in the first place, so no heal needed if disc is played properly thob… Confusing
It depends on how you want to play really. It’s a matter of preference. As far as PVP goes, once you get geared up as Disc, nobody is killing you in BG’s. You’ll have to be good to excel in arenas, but you’re nearly invincible in BG’s.
You should have enough gold to Dual spec both of them at 80 if you haven’t already.
Only 71 on Priest and have dual spec on it.
I surprisingly find Hpriest more fun with the build I’m using.
I’m going Soul Warding so it’s pretty much Disc anyways with
all the fun stuff you can manage. Serendipity, Body and Soul etc.
I just feel like Disc is spam big shields
and wait until the shield dies. If you got a Boomie, Mage etc then PI
but it’s kinda boring. I do more as Hpriest imo.
I like that they made Disc viable but it’s just too “Shield” and done for me.

Holy is better for raw healing
Disc shields are busted in Wrath
Between the two, Disc is better in 99% of cases, not necessarily because Holy is bad but because Disc is just that good. After all, why would you want raw healing that runs the risk of either not being enough, and requiring more healing, or being too much, and a waste of mana, when you could just have strong shields which are always at 100% effectiveness regardless of the health value of the receiver?
I don’t have it now but when I want, I’m planning on having disc for pvp (arenas and maybe bgs) and holy for pve
My only experience by far is healing dungeons, and the fun spyke was lvl 68 when I neared PoM (idk why but is my favorite spell)
No overheal and the sound, I just love the bell sound when it bounces

Disc, absorb damage is so different from all the others heals meaning you will have a raid spot vs holy (aoe healing) people would rather have a resto Druid)
In leveling it’s best to. IMO it’s the best unless if your with warrior then go holy paladin
Disk is a very desired healer in wotlk however no raid wants more than one disk.

Tnats one big point, I think is the only class who is completely useless is u have 2 on the same raid.
I mean u can have as much holy priest u want, only affecting the avaliable buffs, and missing other healers CDS, but as they only heal…
I’m 100% sure I’ll try it for pvp, since being an unkillable healer is super fun
For PvE: 1 Disc per raid is best, but you can make do as holy still even if there is no other priest in the raid.
For PvP: Disc is pretty much the only option for healing. Holy is too easy to kill because less shielding, no focused will, no pain suppression, no Power infusion, penance is just a better heal for PvP and Disc focuses on Flash Heal over Greater Heal which is better for PvP.

Yeah the only time I used holy on pvp was after bfa (which changed almost everything about disc till the point I didn’t like it anymore)
And now it’s back! The glorious days of disc pvp are back! I can’t wait to hit 80 and be Inmortal on WSG

If you find holy fun go for it but disc is miles ahead in actual usefulness.
A druid or shaman can aoe heal far better than a holy priest and bring a lot more to the table. Arguably a disc priest shield spamming is aoe healing more than a holy priest it’s just proactive rather than reactive.
Source I cleared naxx using both on the beta and it wasn’t even close.
If DPS: Shadow
If Heal: Depends
Holy spec its considered a “hard” spec to master, becouse its about timing those spells, but if you manage to actually be on point on that you can carry with it.
Disc its bubble maniac, so basiclly its more used/popular.
Is this a fact? (just asking) I don’t remember shamans being top tier
besides chain healing
Druids was always competitive.
I honestly don’t know about shaman maybe they are on par in terms of aoe healing. No one played one on the beta.
They do bring a ton of utility but nothing that any other shaman doesn’t bring. Holy just really doesn’t bring anything any priest would bring either besides guardian spirit.
If you like Disc, do yourself a favour and play one the best iterations of it ever.
For me at least, Disc has never felt as good as it did in Wrath.
I can’t speak on Holy, never really played it back then.
