Holy rotation question

Hi all,

I am noticing that on most rotation guides like Wowhead and Icy that many priest skills are not part of the rotation, like PW:S and renew and more. What is a typical rotation for dungeons and mythics? Should I remove some of these skills from my bar so I’m not even tempted to use them?

Ehh. I find shield somewhat useless. It’s nice before pulls but I don’t use it during pulls. Renew is nice on the move, but some of that value has been diminished by the fact that Mending is instant.

Typically, the rotation for me is to cast Heal on light/medium single target damage. Serenity on people taking big single target (so like Carve Flesh in Shrine of Storms)
Circle of Healing, Trail of Light (if you run it), or PoH (heavy mana reqs) for light/medium AoE damage. You can PoH into Holy Word Sanctify for heavy AoE damage, really effective.
Prayer of Mending on cooldown. You think it’s not doing much, but it does sooo much. Sometimes it’s my top heal with how much I cast it and how cheap it is. Is a must have on bursting weeks and you get even more value if you run benediction.
You can use Salvation when you expect heavy damage, i.e. if your group sucks on bursting week and they are about to drop like 8 bursting stacks on you, you can Salvation into PoH into Sanctify to help deal with it. (Or mass dispell it now but w/e).

Nope, most of the time you won’t be using spells like PW: S or Renew.
Heal you won’t be using it that much either unless you need to save some mana. If allies aren’t getting hit then instead of heal just do damage.

Flash Heal when heavy damage is coming and you need to top some people fast.
CoH + PoH when heavy group damage is happening (If you have talent PoC then first you use CoH and then spam a few PoH).
PoH is also good when you can’t heal someone because of line of sight, this spell will heal them even if can’t see them.

Sanctify or Serenity when lethal damage happens.

My recommendation is you should go Apotheosis for M+. Now it resets holy words cooldowns and be able to spam 2 consecutives serenities and sanctifies is just too good for saving the entire group.

Is Apoth on the GCD? I rarely use it because I think it’s garbage but the new changes seem interesting

Healers don’t really have a rotation you are reactive and your spells will be based off what is occurring. Some spells are more proactive though like shield.

Yep it is.
Apotheosis has always been a better option than Salvation for M+ now more than ever.
You can now cast Serenity + Sanctify then pop Apoth and again cast Serenity + Sanctify. You pretty much top every one instantly and still you get the benefit of cd reduction on holy words for the duration of Apoth.

You will only cast PW:S or renew if you need to cast while moving. They just arent worth casting otherwise.
