I am going through a video on the fights in here but has anyone here done this successfully as Holy Priest? any tips on talent to use would also be helpful as I am probably going to run it this weekend with my guild.
I’ve full-cleared as Holy. You’ll probably get the most value out of the standard dungeon talent build (Trail/x/Guardian Angel/x/Surge of Light/Divine Star/Apotheosis).
You could run Cosmic Ripple in place of GA, but on a few fights the tank will get absolutely smashed, so being able to use GS more frequently (for the heal boost more than anything) is immense.
Surge of Light is what I would use, specifically due to Trail of Light synergy and a bit of extra mobility, but Circle of Healing is decent here too. Depends on what’s putting you furthest behind. If your healing feels okay and you’d prefer stronger spot healing, Surge is good. Group getting smashed? Circle.
Benediction/Divine Star/Halo is going to strictly be preference. Benediction may have value, but Divine Star is going to shine on most fights barring when everyone is extremely spread. Halo can be stronger, but it requires good awareness so as to not pull extra mobs.
Use Apotheosis with extreme prejudice. The extra little bit of mobility (simply due to having Holy Words up more frequently) will help in more than a few spots.
I concur with this person. I’ve done two clears of OP: Mechagon and Holy feels very strong. Mana isn’t really an issue, which is important - as some of these fights require a lot of, Flash Heal, spam.
Ive cleared it as holy. Holy is very workable.
I prefer to use Light of the Naaru instead of Apotheosis in the last talent line just because Apotheosis eats a global cooldown without any healing when you activate it, so it cannot be used reactively to spike damage.
I also run with at least one Promise of Deliverance and I have Holy Word: Serenity available very, very often in dungeons (since your most used button is flash heal - bring lots of water to sit and drink every time you aren’t in combat - if you don’t run m+ a bunch the goal is to sit and get a few sips in when you are in range of the tank and right before he pulls before you get in combat again).
I made it through with a random pug as holy. The dungeon is on a “don’t pug” list for me now… but I killed the last boss.
Another big thing Apoth has going for it is that it can be used as a DPS cooldown, which makes pushing some checks a lot easier, especially if you decide to do hard mode.
The damage is largely telegraphed though so I never had issues making sure I was using Apotheosis at the right time. I can see why you’d like LotN, though.
Thank you all, great tips and good convo about Holy. <3
I did 7/8 bosses as disc but switched to holy for king Mechagon, tried it a few times as disc and it’s really hard to keep people up when his aerial unit rises up in phase 1, after switching to holy we killed him in 2 tries, a lot more straight forward direct AOE healing to keep people up. Also found KUJO to be pretty hard as disc.
Kujo was pretty easy as both, I felt, but was absolutely miserable as both disc and holy on hardmode due to that insane slow and quick spread requirement. I think Disc has the edge there purely because of a slight mobility edge (unless you get insane Surge procs, or something).
