Holy priest covenant?

From what I hear all of them are not to great
So I figured I’d ask the Holy’s what they picked and why?

I initially went Boon of the Ascended (Disc) but I swapped to Holy because Disc is pretty pug-unfriendly. Boon is really difficult to utilize with Holy, so I’m actually swapping covenants tomorrow. I’m going Venthyr for a myriad of reasons:

  1. Ease of use. Way easier to utilize well than, let’s say, Night Fae’s Fae Guardians.
  2. Flexibility. Can be used for both Shadow and Disc if/when I go back.
  3. Door of Shadows helps to fix one of my issues with Priest…mobility.
  4. PvP. Best covenant ability for that, if you are into it.

Also went Venthyr for ease of use and being universally good with all the specs.

I picked Venthry…
well because I main Disc.

It’s also only a bit weaker than Necrolord ( only a bit )

If you want to see some of the exhaustingly-long threads already posted for this topic, smash that search button and remember to leave a like.

Anyway: boneybois. Lining up a stupid-phat intel boost with every CD you have gets to be pretty epic. Channeling a shield on yourself when you’ve got a big nasty DoT is fun even if it takes you out of the heal-blasting for a sec.

Hpriests are spread out pretty evenly among all the covenants, so it really doesn’t seem to matter to anyone in any content.

So for my money I switched to Venthyr after finding Unholy Nova too unimpactful in raid for my taste. I want abilities that feel powerful in and of themselves, not just those that buff other abilities. And the teleport has saved many a death. YMMV.

You mean having an enemy selected and then pushing the button? Seems easy to me :stuck_out_tongue: just teasin

Considering the fairies follow your Flash Heal (used frequently for Holy) and PW:S (pretty much unused to begin with), yeah, utilizing it to its full potential is much more involved than something like Mind Games. I guess you can treat it like a fire and forget spell, but that’s not maximizing on it’s intended purpose.

Oh yeah, I forgot in holy spec it follows Flash Heal, shadowbrain atm lol.

I’ll often not stress about the cd reduction one unless I’ve just used Divine Hymn, and will only pass the damage reduction one onto tank if hes getting spicy.

I think it just seems like nothing for me because I feel familiar with it, but you are right now that I look at it, it is more thought than just using mindgames every 45s.

To add on to this - Unholy Nova does a little chunk of healing as well, but in a prog environment the Transfusion component of Nova does a very significant amount of healing, and it’s insanely efficient as all the individual hits are so small.

That + the int + the short CD and it is incredible throughput and decent damage, and is comfortably strongest for both raid and M+.

Venthyr or bust for PvP, though. Mindgames is an incredible spell.

I would strongly recommend Night Fae if you do raiding. You can get 20-30k mana back from Fae Guardians on long fights.

Night Fae is good for holy in all forms of content not just raiding.

If you only plan on playing only holy I would argue it’s Holys best covenant

Agree don’t like any of covenants for Priest they just don’t fit… I play Mage and Paladin as well, those are easy to use sometimes they have 2 that work well… but priest current covenant don’t compliment the spec at all in my opinion. I have switched like 3 times… it’s just awkward… something feels like its missing

I take back what I said… Milkshooter is right… night fae. last one I was going to try, but it’s good. Love the teleport.

IMO Night Fae is probably your best bet if you want to focus on Holy and PvE. If you want to play multiple specs and/or do PvP then Venthyr.

Frankly, I say to pick based off the aesthetic you prefer. Things are going to get rebalanced.
