Holy power came out in Cata, so you know its bad. It was actually much better in MoP because they actually attempted to tune it. Still its mind boggling that this is the change they think most holy paladins want

It might not be too bad if all we have to do is spend it on Word of Glory or Light of Dawn.
As long its a mana-free heal for using your other healing spells and not some fundamental part of the healing toolkit I think it will be fine. Light of dawn probably shouldn’t be attached to it since its the only AoE heal we have really
Literally why i quit the game and skipped MOP and WOD, but to be honest i think this will really hurt holy paladins and give blizzard an easier way to contrict the spec rather than improve it.
We watched Glimmer get kind of out of hand and i think they want to get a stronger grip on it in general. This could be a good thing in that sense of the word but even then i disagree with it.

Holy Power is literally the reason I quit Holy Paladin back in Cata. This dude was my main from when I started in BC through until Cata launch (I gave HP a try in pre-patch). Completely abandoned him when Holy Power came out, as I understand so many other Holy Paladins did. It’s just not something that works for Holy spec and make it feel so clunky.
Oh well, at least now there’s one less Pally to add to the millions of glimmer FotM players out there.

I just read the class changes and came here to say the same thing. If they want to “unify the resources”, fine…remove holy power altogether. I hate it. But, it works ok for ret. The whole reason I came back to Paladin was because Holy Power was gone, though, at least for Prot and Holy.
PLEASE rethink this change Blizz. Holy Power is not fun, doesn’t help or define the class, and Prot and Holy work just fine without it.
Personally I hate it and don’t want it anywhere near my favorite class.

Don’t get me wrong, I would LOVE Hokey Power removed entirely. While your at it, take Inquisition out back and set it on fire, and give us some actually interesting choices to compete with Crusade. I just don’t see them removing it from Ret. Would be great if they did. I just don’t know how they balance ret without it…would we just templar’s verdict until we are oom, and then seal of wisdom? A melee arcane mage? I don’t see them going that far.

Holy power is a bad concept all together and needs to go. They can add actual abilities to the class as a whole. Holy power is nothing but filler, an extra step to the abilities we already had before Holy power became a thing. I hate it with a passion. Its a terrible mechanic.

I’m psyched for it. Played my paladin today more that I have in a while. Really looking forward to it. So is the pally I talked to I’m guild and so was my friend who n disc. He was talking about coming back to wow for it. Can’t wait for more info when alpha gets here.

Holy Power itself is a garbage mechanic and needs to go. I dropped my Paladin main because of it. I played Prot again because they got rid of it. Won’t touch Paladin with a 10 foot pole if they add holy power back in Shadowlands. Ill stay in classic or tbc.

Calm down Karen. I will give it a shot like every expac, but like Cata, WoD, and BFA, I will voice my opinion. Sorry you can’t deal with it.
In fact, most of the changes I’ve heard coming to the other classes sound great. This is the only one that sounds like an awful decision by Blizzard. I applaud them for what they are doing to the other classes but they need to be called out for this huge mistake. Holy Power is a mistake.

We are all free to have our opinions of course. You seem upset about mine though, so upset that you specifically responded to me over my opinion.
I struggle to find anyone who actually likes holy power. I don’t know a single guild mate, friend, family member who does. The only people I ever see advocate for such a terrible mechanic are people like yourself on the forums. Again, like your opinion, Ill have mine.
A mechanic that adds no value to the class, holy power, is nothing but a degradation of the class as a whole. Its fluff. Its not needed. They took out abilities that had cooldowns and redesigned them to cost holy power which is essentially an interactive cooldown to fill gaps in rotations. It’s completely unwanted.
Edit: To be clear, Im sure you mean well. I’ve disliked holy power since Cata though. I mained paladin since classic release. Holy power was what drove me away. I appreciate your take on it but I don’t think Ill be changing my mind. I firmly believe holy power is a huge mistake.
