Holy Paladin Honor talents are LAME!

The biggest concerns of mine going into the rework is that hpal has the worst mastery out of any pvp healer, and actually has the worst honor talents out of any spec in the whole game.

Every healer gets to utilize some cool new tech with their cool amazing honor talents. Lets go down the list of just a few healers and go over their best honor talents

Rsham:
ELECTRIC VORTEX THAT TRAPS YOUR ENEMIES THAT YOU CAN REPOSITION
SICK RED TOTEM THAT GIVES YOUR TEAM CRAZY ONE SHOT DAMAGE
whirlpool root that makes the person(s) standing in it do HALF damage and healing HOLY CRAP
Grounding totem needs no introduction: One of the best buttons in the entire game
Become an actual diglet and burrow under the ground immuning every enemy spell. One of the best defensives in the entire game
60 Second CDR on your totem that ticks ur entire team for 70k heals

MW:
AOE CLOAK OF SHADOWS WHEN U PRESS RESTORAL(usable while stunned lmaooo)
LITERALLY BECOME ZENYATTA FROM OVERWATCH LMAO
The ability to double port around the map while stunned and be borderline unkillable
30 Yard range 5 second disarm that goes through parry
GET PI everytime you punch something
Casual 30% wall everytime you get stunned
30 second cooldown 5 second duration aura mastery(shortest cd/highest uptime aura mast in history of wow)

Disc priest:
Archangel: Psuedo hpal wings on a 1 minute cooldown.
darkarc: Turns your team into one shot monsters
Inner light casually makes every spell cost 15% less mana(lmao)
become one of the hardest healers to reliably CC with a mini immunity every 20 seconds
Aoe grip that also gives a 120k sheild

Like all these healers get cool sick honor talents and then hpal gets this:
Avenging light: Makes holy light deal damage equal to 30% of the healing done to all enemies within 10 yards.
Back in pre slands when holy light was fast cast and did massive healing, this honor talent actually had its niche uses. Now that holy light has a 10 year cast time and does mediocre healing, it is completely useless and has been for almost 3+ years.

What needs to be done about this:
delete this and replace with something better like
New honor talent : Holy swiftness: Infusion of light now also reduces the cast time of your holy light by 75% and increases its healing by 50%

*Darkest before the dawn: Passively stacks a buff that increases healing done with light of dawn
If light of dawn wasn’t a completely useless button that didnt force you to be in melee range to get value it then this talent would actually be a really cool synergy with the empyrean legacy talent.

What needs to be done about this:
Darkest before the dawn now additionally increases the range of light of dawn to 40 yards

*Ultimate sac: In exchange of having the luxary of making sac now completely melt your health bar, you also get to enjoy the privilege of having it become HALF the original duration… LMAO

What needs to be done about this:Ultimate sac no longer reduces the duration of hand of sacrifice to 6 seconds

*Judgements of the pure: makes judgement dispel 1 Poison, Disease, and Magic effect that the target have caused on yourself.

Completely useless for holy paladins that already have a disease magic and poison dispel baked into their kit and only have 1 charge of judgement on a 10 second cd.

What needs to be done about this:
Judgements of the pure reworked for holy paladins: Causes judgement to now heal everyone in your aura for 500% of the damage dealt

*Searing glare: A new talent for Holy Paladin in 10.1. A short cast that causes enemies in a 20 yard frontal cone to miss with all their attacks for 4 seconds.

Completely useless honor talent that makes 0 sense. In order to get value out of this you need to run into melee range and HARD cast in the enemy teams face and hope they dont dispel it.

What needs to be done: Either make it 40 yard range or make it undispellable.

*veng aura: When an ally within your aura is affected by a full loss of control effect you are granted 6% Crit for 8 seconds, stack up to 2 times.

Really cool honor talent that gave you and your team a solid amoun tof crit… why the hell was this pruned from the game?!

add this back

*aura of reckoning: Whenever you or an ally within your aura are hit by a critical hit you gain 1 stack. At 100 stacks you gain wings for 6 seconds

after getting quadruple nerfed since dragonflight prepatch this ability that was actually really cool is now being pruned from the game LMAO

Please dont prune this.

*Divine vision: Increases the range of your auras to 70 yards and reduces the cooldown on aura mastery

Kind of a niche pick that doesnt really see much use. Its ok i guess?

*Hollowed ground: removes and supresses all slows on all allies standing in it.
Pretty neat ability thats gives you a decent amount of mobility except the slow supression doesnt even work and has never worked at all even tho it is in the tooltip? Super niche ability only good vs DK teams.

*Spreading the word: All allies within your aura is granted a 30% physical damage reduction when you cast BOP and are cleared of any movement impairing effects when you cast freedom. This is a good rbg ability but isn’t really that impactful in arena unless you are fighting a dk spamming chains i guess(the honor talent above probably superior for that situation)

*what needs to be done: freedom also removes roots on allies within your aura. The damage reduction from bop now lasts 8 seconds instead of 6.

Then we get to the last 2 honor talents which are the only ones i can say with confidence are actually pretty good:
Cleanse the weak: Most broken honor talent in the game that straight up hard counters certain comps but is getting nerfed to only affect 2 targets. But if it still dispells every buff of those 2 targets it will probably still be OP. This honor talent is bad for the game.

what needs to be done about this: Cleanse the weak reworked. Dispelling a target gives them an absorb sheild for 5% of their hp per debuff dispelled(cannot occur more than once every 30 seconds)

Blessed hands: 2 charges of freedom and bop.

I wish the 2 freedoms were baseline and this only gave an extra charge of bop but im grateful to have this honor talent.

Honestly maybe not every single suggestion in this thread is in the best interest of the game…but HOLY CRAP DO SOMETHING. There actually isnt a spec in this game that has this many USELESS honor talents.

Arent tranq bubble, thorns, high winds, focused growth, disentanglement, and reactive resin all powerful useful buttons?

Seems rdruids outnumber hpals in terms of useful honor talents.

Rdruids are better than hpally yes but their pvp talents are trash. Thorns is too much mana that its not worth the mana, disentanglement sucks, reactive resin sucks, focused growth is just a stacking throughput talent that sucks, high winds is a good talent, tranq bubble is not that amazing, I think people would take others if there was something decent to take.

I know rdruid pretty good, not being disingenuous. I mean Id for sure take for sure take cleanse the weak or something like blessed hands that gives me two charges of my external defensives/mobility.

The reason focused growth is dumb is you have to stack up lb stacks in a fast meta. Could literally unnerf budding leaves and get rid of this trash talent. Its required for throughput but since you have it, budding leaves HAS to nerfed. Tranq bubble is an auto lock in for most but you use it to immune a cc most of the time and it has terrible throughput. Id rather have priest fade 1s immunity which is worlds better.

true but rdruid’s utility against casters is where it severely lacks (no mass dispel, legit nothing against casters especially ones that spam purge ur dots). the dispel protection every 3rd purge talent feels underwhelming especially against double/triple purges in 3s. rdruids are only good against melee/cleave

Tranq bubble doesnt work half the bloody time anyway :unamused: . Can’t count the amount of times a stormbolt or a warstomp has clipped me as I cast it then it gets cancelled anyway. Could be cause I’m from OCE :cry:.

Can’t comment on how good growth is because I’ve never done the math on it’s increase to healing…but it doesn’t seem substantial. I remember reading somewhere that double lifebloom double dips on the heal reduction, so it only provides an 8% increase to a heal thats 20%(ish?)of our healing

Rdruid is going to be the best healer in the game with their 4 set and mastery in every slot.

Im just sad because Ret PvP talents are also attrocious and I’d like to have a complete revamp

I am unsure about rebuffing ultimate sac. Iirc that was a MAJOR complaint in regards to hpalla in SL s1 and I think it would be better flat removed and given a different talent.

I am still surprised hpalla wasn’t given unbound freedom baseline when ret was also given the same in our rework. Seems like a natural fit.
Dbl blessing is cool but slightly out dated imo.
Hpalla should also be given spellwarding, very strange it isn’t.
