The Coaglamation
Last night, Coag was an absolute nightmare in a PUG. We attempted the fight about four times before I’d had enough. On the first and third tries, the battle seemed to drag on, and his health wasn’t dropping as quickly as expected. I checked, and he was only slightly below 50% health. Everything was going fine until this point.
Some notes:
1. First Attempt:
We started losing people. I believe one or two had their entire health bars filled with healing absorbs.
2. Second Attempt:
I grabbed a second orb about 10 yards from the tank, and Coag started blasting the group with Dark Pulse. I went into action using Power Infusion and Premonition, but it wasn’t enough. My entire health bar was covered in healing absorbs, and we were obliterated. I thought I might have grabbed too many orbs.
3. Third Attempt:
This is where the fight felt like it dragged on. I was healing on fumes—out of cooldowns, with just a sliver of mana left—and we wiped. Coag was just below 50% health.
4. Fourth Attempt:
This was when I noticed that, as a group, we all had our health bars filled with healing absorbs. As I grabbed the second orb, my entire health bar became covered in healing absorbs. Dark Pulse came quickly after I grabbed the second orb (barely turned around when it started, 12 yards from the tank), and the PUG was destroyed. I couldn’t stabilize; Dark Pulse was too fast, and even with my full set of Holy Words, I couldn’t remove the healing absorbs. Flash Heals, Instant Heals, Prayer of Mending, empowered Holy Word: Sanctify—nothing worked. It felt as if my gear was 554 iLvL.
Additionally, with health pots, health stone, Desperate Prayer, I barely got the healing absorbed off. That includes the healing from the Binding Healing talent.
I’ve healed Mythic+10 Mists of Tirna Scithe with no poison cleanse except for the tank and have been timing my Mythic+8s, so it’s not like I went in blind. I’m at around 626 iLvL with some BiS pieces and the 4-piece tier set.
Note:
I’m not sure if something was going on with the dungeons last night. I went to do a +8 Siege to help boost my morale. During the second boss, Lockwood, someone noticed that the bombardment timing was off. Both sets went off simultaneously, and only the tank and I survived. This happened about three times when we were caught off guard by how fast both sets of bombardments went out. After we survived, we completed the dungeon, but it was on everyone’s mind.
