Holy mama, that's one big maintenance schedule

Hours of unscheduled downtime this week and now an extended maintenance.

If departments in charge of stuff that causes downtime can not communicate clearly with each other we KNOW they lack the ability to communicate with us, you know the folks who pay a subscription fee so they have jobs?

Also there will be a 2 week notice that season 2 is ending. Given their current skill level I seriously doubt we will see 8.2 before classic releases.

Not when it’s backend stuff and prepping for major patches. We’ve seen it before.

This is sarcasm, right?

Yup, agreed. People get upset if the maintenance goes a half hour over, and act like their lives are over.

Sheesh. I’d like to see how these same people would’ve complained for the inception through the mess of Burning Crusade and Lich King. I remember the first few weeks of those would be restart after restart, sudden shut-downs without warning and more.

They’ve got it good these days since maintenance is far far faster, more efficient, and don’t go over the time nearly as often.

Anyone remember when patch 3.2 came out? it was like 3 day maintenance

Just think what classic maintenances would be. It should be 8-10 hours each, and every week.

When was the last very long maintenance, aside from the expacs, and major updates?
How often, in the past few years have they had to restart more than a couple times. I remember B.C when the maintenance could stretch into days, and have too many drops. There have also been far far less major bugs.

Men scaring women with their inability to control their tempers. Yeah that’s hilarious.

Meh… I’ll just find other things to do. Other than getting my Battle Pet leveling stones from Draenor, I don’t have much planned for Tuesdays anymore.

This topic comes up when one random long maintenance comes around and people get grumpy and start speculating.

It’s not often, but it does happen. Especially when it’s both WoW and Bnet maintenance. We just had an authentication server issue for Bnet and we’ve also got some serious major updates coming in 8.2 that will need more maintenance prior to it. I’m sure there’s quite a lot to prepare for.

But acting like this never happens is just silly.

When you belittle Lunnaya and it turns out that WoW maintenance actually is that long.

Yes I was wrong. The link I posted was later deleted off Twitter and replaced with another that actually matched up. I didn’t know I was wrong at the time, because I’m not clairvoyant.

when you don’t know something for sure, it’s wise not to dive headlong into belligerence trying to defend the presumption you’re making.

gg, wp.

Oh for &$^% sake.

It wasn’t a case of not knowing for sure… BlizzardCS twitter feed had conflicting information to what the launcher had. The launcher says ‘follow BlizzardCS for further updates’ so i posted the at-the-time information from their twitter feed.

It was later changed, because it was wrong and they were alerted to the problem. I didn’t jump the gun, I posted information that on Blizzard’s end turned out to be incorrect.

Reading is hard is hardly belligerent compared to the flak Lunn takes on an almost-daily basis on these forums.

Hmm, I started in WoLK and clearly remember regular Tuesday maintenance being somewhere in that neighborhood as I would get home around 1pm cst and still have to wait 1-3 hours for servers to be up. Maintenance running long and all.

id join you as well

To be fair they scared other men, too. But you didn’t notice that it was always some loser guy getting violent when life got frustrating? I just don’t find that crap funny anymore.

I just can’t find out of control raging men funny anymore. Sorry if you think that’s unreasonable, but they scare people, hurt people, kill people. Sometimes their own little kids. I just find it hard to see this stuff as funny anymore.
