It kind of feels the same for both archon and oracle to some extent, Though Oracle has an advantage out the gate with one extra gap filler. But the situation still feels the same especially in dungeons. Always one cd or 10-15 seconds late on a cooldown cycling to keep pace with the current state of dungeons and in some situations, even PVP. It feels like we are missing 1 impactful ability or something needs to have a reduced cooldown because it just doesn’t feel like it is syncing up right this expansion. Honestly I wish they would just make the DF S4 tier set bonus base line that way at least RNG could play into it a little. Even if you waste talents to go full holy word cd reduction, It still feels off.
Do you have the 4 piece yet? It’s amazing in oracle at least. I’m sitting on 2 stacks of serenity and still spamming poms. Have to go out of my way to run out of cds and I use a lot offensively
Yeah I think at 4p holy feels great right now. More comfy than Oracle disc at low key, which is saying something. I even went to try running epiphany and I mean it worked in a +10 group with nobody dying.
Still has the eternal problem of lack of external/mobility + squishy but everything else feels great.
There’s also a couple dungeons this time around where you’re dealing with a lot of random tiny chunks of damage which PoM is great for.
Having a lot of fun with it and probably gonna push soon now that I got tier.

Already pushing 12s with my Hpriest.
Feels really good and I still don’t have my 4set which I feel is going to be really good.
I can see cheesing bosses like HoA 3rd and Gambit Dragon where you can premonition and dispell all the magics with ease

wish they would put more ooomph into archon talents b/c oracle just blows it out of the water hps wise thanks to built in massive passive buffs to other spells. archon is just halo and that’s about it. meh.

yea if they would cut the cooldown of halo in half it would be so much better. It’s not even all that strong for healing. It’s mostly the free SOL procs you get from it that brings value to it. That would be the exact gap filler archon needs.

after latest patches, the proc rate on SoL with halo seems way lower now. i have done ones and only got the auto proc and that’s it. ugh.

Archon feels absurdly weak outside of Apotheosis right now. SoL procs need to be more consistent. And it is even worse this season than last season as SoL procs now cost mana to use. Holy priest is already the most mana stressed heal class in the game and they just decided to compound it even further.

For me, I can’t stand that Archon sounds like it would be the more powerful spec DPS-wise, yet it doesn’t get a buff to Smite, Holy Fire, and Holy Nova like Oracle gets.
I guess they think Halo on Archon makes up for this, but I still think it simply feels bad and should just be a buff given to both hero specs. Even if Archon ends up doing slightly more DPS, I think it still makes more sense anyway.

Started doin a couple keys tonight and TBH I really think that once you’re at 4p you don’t need to play Lightweaver anymore - not even really sure why that’s what guides were recommending.
I feel like Lasting Words/Divine Word with desparate times is actually better to take now.
Though I personally am liking epiphany even in dungeon content because PoM is basically just equivalent to a holy word serenity on the first target it hits now.
Would you mind sharing your build? I guess you’re going deep PoM into the right side of the tree then?
hmm holy word serenity does way more healing by a far margin than PoM.
Personally I do not like the renew build with lasting words, I know it can work and it’s really good, but I just dislike the gameplay around it.
I still need to test in higher keys. 12s have been smooth as long as you manage your healing cds.

I do think that the spec will hit a wall in higher keys, but can’t tell right now.

Keeping in mind I’m playing Oracle. So PoM is healing on its first target about 600k + 500k (free PW:S) + 1.6mil (2 piece). If we’re talking end of dungeon, PoM + 2 piece is usually around 24% of my healing.

I DO think if you don’t like the empowered renew tracking playstyle, you’re probably better off going desparate times instead of Prismatic in both my builds.

I was counting the shield.
I’ve tested a few minutes ago and with my gear and no modifiers Serenity healed for 3.7 million and PoM on the first target around 2.4 million (Counting the shield).
Quite a difference but if you then add procs and modifiers Serenity is just stronger by a lot more
Interestingly, not my experience right now. You probably have a chunk of ilvl on me.
Just looking at my priory 11 numbers:
Avg cast of Serenity 2.4m Max cast 3.2m (Crit 5m and 6.1 respectively)
Prompt Prognosis averages 1.7m, max 2.6m. (crit 3.2 and 8.2 respectively). Then add PoM healing and PW:S on top of it, and it on average surpasses it, actually.
They’re pretty close in my overall casts through a dungeon. And on a dummy Serenity is healing for 2.5. So really not seeing much of a difference at all at my current ilvl.
In that same +11 key, PoM + Prompt Prognosis made up 25% of my total healing.
I actually pushed right side of tree down to answered prayer and took litd into divine image and skipped the renew / mastery buff and lasting words. Final point is in light of naaru to help with dps rotation.
