As a first gen Faerlina Rank 14 grinder, it is freaking HILARIOUS seeing the echo chamber in which allies think HORDE HAS ADVANTAGE in AV. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.
These are the same clowns who never experienced allies premading 40-mans and rushing Drek and finishing the game in 5 minutes for MONTHS. It is crazy how bad the players are on these forums.
Premades are long gone from the client we are on. Outside of premades the Horde cave is factually closer to the middle of the map. This isn’t even debatable.
The horde can get to a turtle choke point before ally can hope to.
Weird take when ally DMF is next to SW so it is camped 24/7 by literal back paddling boomies and SPs whereas horde DMF is in TB so literally no one gives 2 shts ?
I played AV throughout Classic at various times and as both horde and alliance. I even did the queue syncing “premades” as ally P6 and horde queue syncing “premades” as horde in SoM.
The most interesting thing I ever saw was in SoM when the allies had 30 min queues and they would allow insta queue horde to take SHGY and then the allies would take the rest of the map for 31 mins and farm horde at SHGY, not even allowing horde to kill Bal. That graveyard is just the very best to farm people at, and it kept horde away from bothering them.
Taking premades out of the equation, from what I’ve seen the side with the queues tends to just try harder. That matters more than the map disadvantages. I’m not going to play AV this time around but it will be somewhat interesting to see the forum threads about it.
When honor per hour is the meta as it is in classic, the faction with the longer queue times will always push for a turtle as that results in the best HPH for them.
The horde were the ones doing this in classic especially once the premades were shut down.
However outside of this the horde does have a significant proximity advantage as horde simply have less ground to cover from cave to mid. This is why the cave was moved in TBC
